The traditional schedule for school is outdated because in the old days, it allowed for children to help harvest crops during the summer. Now, the long summer just enables kids to be lazy and easily forget what they learned at the end of the previous school year. If a year round school year were to be implemented, kids would not be able to be as lazy and breaks would not be so long as to let kids forget a whole bunch of their school curriculum.…
All schools should have four day weeks. Teachers get time to prepare. Kids get more time for homework. Teachers can get stuff out for the week.…
Therefor I don’t think our school board should add time to each school day. I think we should keep our schedule starting at 7:30 and ending at 2:30. That way we can get home do chores, play and go to any afterschool activities. If we changed our school hours that would interfere with parents/guardians work schedules. Now with the schedules our school has we don’t get to restless with the teachers or other…
It can be hard for us to consistently give our best effort in school if there is not a longer weekend. It can be difficult for us to wake up early in the morning, before there is light outside, and efficiently work for seven hours at school. A longer weekend can help us gain more sleep time and relax from our previous week at school. Some of us may use this extra break to catch up on school work. Sometimes we may need a longer weekend to go on small vacations. A longer weekend can us time to pursue a job to earn some extra money for the many things that us teenagers must have. A longer weekend gives us more time to make choices on our own, instead of always being instructed by the school system.…
If we were to start school later, the school day would be so much more easier and students wouldn’t complain as much. Students would be better prepared and have more attention span, it would improve test and grades because students would be more focused instead of looking at the clock waiting for school to get out.…
The schools that have a four day school week have seen better academic results. It also gives teachers longer days to relax and more time to grade home work. So I think the school systems in the United States should have a four day school…
Schools should start later in the day because high schoolers would get close to the recommended amount of sleep, which will prevent them from sleeping in class and it will decrease the risk of students getting into dangerous situations. Most high schoolers need a good night sleep to perform well in school. People from the ages of 12-25…
My first reason on why we shouldn’t add any more hours is because there would be no time for extracurricular activities. With having no exercise time in the day kids would be wild and hard to get asleep at night, which would be a long day ahead of them.Because normally kids would be worn out after gym or running around playing on the playground. The…
I think that starting the school day later would greatly benefit the students and teachers. if we started school at about say nine thirty in the morning instead of eight thirty or earlier, that would mean that most students wouldn't need to be awake in the morning till almost seven thirty to eight thirty and some kids could even wake up a little later then that depending on where they live. granite it is proven that high school students only need six to eight hours of sleep each night but there is always that few that never get the six to eight hours of sleep.…
High schools should start their school day later than they do now, in order for students to get the best out of their education.…
Schools should end later. From my personal experience, I usually end school and then have hours of extra curricular activities, because I am a dancer. This limits my time that I am able to spend on homework, and causes me to stress out. Also, it forces me to go to bed later and not get enough sleep for a growing teen. If school ended earlier I would be able to finish my homework earlier and get to go to bed earlier which would enable me to then get more sleep. Finally, I would get to spend more time with family. I am always rushing home from school, right to my homework and then off to dance, and then back home for homework. I never get to talk to my family and tell them about my day.…
Many students across the U.S. are complaining because they need more sleep. There is an easy answer to this and a harder answer that would cost more money. The easy answer is go to sleep earlier. The harder answer would be to change school start times. I believe that we should just go to sleep earlier. This is because we would not have to change schedules, Students aren´t guaranteed to go to sleep at the same time , and after school activities would not have to go into the night.…
Starting school later in the day kids will be able to function during the school day, getting the sleep they need, and having an increase of school attendance. We want our kids to be excited about school and want to go. In all, school times should be pushed back at least 40 minutes. It will help students get the sleep they need so they can be proficient in school and be ready to give it their…
Some people believe that the school starting time should be pushed back to 10 rather than 8. There are researches that state many reasons for school to start later. Some researches stated that sleepy teens getting behind the wheel is a danger, absence rates have dropped in many schools that have had this transition, and kids and teens would most likely get the proper amount of sleep each night. On the other hand, some people may argue that schedules would be pushed back. School would have to run later than 3:30, therefore people participating in sporting events would either miss school due to games, or run later at night for practices.…
Moreover, having students stay in school for more days can help the school meet its needs. A better explanation would be schools would have no problems, economically. To prove the point, students buy snacks, lunch, parking, and materials. Students don't realize how much they help the school pay its bills such as diesel, supplies, and utility payments. Having a four day school week can increase the…
