2. Masculinity (MAS)
a. Reinforces masculine role
b. High- male-oriented; male dominated
c. Low- female treated as equals, not male dominated
3. Uncertainty Avoidance Index (UAI)
a. Level of tolerance for uncertainty
b. High- low tolerance for uncertainty and ambiguity
c. Low- less concern about ambiguity and uncertainty and high rank for mix
4. Longer term Orientation
a. Degree the society embraces long-term commitments and respect for traditon
b. High- tends to support a strong work ethic where long-term rewards are expected as a result of today's hard work
c. Low- does not reinforce the concept of long-term, traditional orientation; change can occur more rapidly as long-term tradtions and commitments do not become impediments to change
5. Power Distance Index
a. Inequality
b. High- ranking indicates that inequalities of power and wealth have been allowed to grow within the society; follow caste system
c. Low- ranking indicates the society deemphasized the differences between citizens' power and wealth; equlaity and opportunity for everyone is stressed -GLOBE Project- global leadership and organizational behavior effectiveness
