What was the misunderstanding that occurred? His directions on how to get to the medical building were clear, but not clear on where to drop the lab paperwork off once I was there. He stated, “Drop the papers of at the first clinic to the right, once you walk in the building, you can put them in their box.” So I did exactly that. I ended up dropping the papers off to the wrong clinic though because it was supposed to be dropped off at the women’s clinic and I dropped it off at the primary clinic. The clinics had switched their locations in the hospital a week earlier. I didn’t know because when you drop off paperwork, you drop it in a drop box, which it only said drop box. Therefore, since it was dropped off at the wrong location, it was not processed correctly, which made it late for the Commander. Since this happened, the Commander had to locate the paperwork, get it to the right location, and have them expedite it back to him. I ended up finding out that the paperwork was for a solider that was wounded.…

John Updike's story "A & P" epitomizes that moment of realization for most young adults, that following through with the choices one makes, and being able to accept the consequences of ones actions goes hand in hand with becoming a mature adult. In the beginning of the story, Sammy comes off as just another naive and rebellious teen. He is bored with his mundane job at the A&P, and has some very strong opinions about the customers, referring to them as sheep. As the story progresses, Sammy realizes how much more important his convictions are to him, than the need he feels to conform to society. He uses standing up to Lengel for Queenie, as a way to finally express his opinions, instead of continuing to pretend he is happy with conformity because it is what society expects him to do.…

“The environment supports every child’s learning through planned experiences and activities that are challenging and achievable.” (National Strategies EYFS 2014: 32) (Foundation Years, 2016) This quotation associates with The Play Strategy 2008 which was the government’s plan to improve facilities for all children, for instance when the children have P.E, facilities are located for disabled children so they are not excluded. My setting has also placed lifts for children and adults in wheelchairs, this also combines with The Equality Act 2010, which clarifies how schools/nurseries should not discriminate if a child has a disability, and instead they should remain professional and maintain positive relationships between practitioners/professionals.
