Comparison of Two Different Types of Vacation Destinations in Turkey
Properties and Diversities of Destinations
In order to indicate differences between these two destinations, Meditterian and Black Sea, I would like to mention about properties of these destinations firstly.
There are sea, sand and sun at the one side and there are mountains, forests and plateau life at the other side. Here are two regions which are contributing to development of Turkish Tourism.
Regarding to geographical structure, Turkey has opportunities to having summer and winter tourism together. But it is so obvious that most of investments and encouragements are building in regions of Meditterian and Aegean in Turkey. Why Black Sea cannot obtain that kind of investments as much as it deserves?
Summer tourism is not convenient in terms of climate conditions in Black Sea. But there is one more reason that whole tourism agencies which are providing foreign tourists from other countries, are planning their organizations to Meditterian Sea. Even domestic tourists prefer to have their vacations in Meditterian Sea. National and international exhibitions, seminars and conventions are arranged in region of Meditterian as well.
There are a lot of wonderful places which are suitable for this type of organizations such as Trabzon, Sinop, Samsun so on, in Black Sea. But the questions are, what is the level of substructures in Black Sea and how much importance is given to the promotion?
I would like to analyze Trabzon from Black Sea and Antalya in Meditterian Sea.
Antalya
Antalya is one of the most important tourism destination in Turkey. Antalya and Istanbul host more than % 50 of total tourism demands every year. Therefore, the number of accommodation facilities, transportation services, entertainment places so on are much more than other cities.
According the stats of Turkish Statistical Institute, 12.066.000 tourists have visited Antalya in 2013. 33.457.103 foreign tourists came to Turkey in 2013 totally. So Antalya is composing approximately %36 of total

In BMI's Turkey tourism report, we examine a range of key market indicators in this well established and popular market, including inbound and outbound travel, industry value and tourism related expenditure. We expect to see increases across the board; however, any escalation in regional and domestic tensions is likely to impact on growth. Indeed, domestic tensions remain a risk to the tourism industry, with the recent outbreak of widespread protests against Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan marking a turning point in his decade-long stint in power. Though this is unlikely to lead to a change in government before election in 2015, the riots and protests could deter investors and travellers alike.…

According to the World Tourism Organization in 2002, Middle East had a remarkable 16.7% increase in its overall tourist arrivals as compared to 2001 as it finished with 27.5 million tourists but gained only 3.9% of the overall world market share. The standout performer for the Middle East was Saudi Arabia contributing 27.2% followed by United Arab Emirates with 19.7% and 17.8% contribution by Egypt. The main reasons seen for this increase in the figures are due to the fact that the governments of each country are making investments in developing tourist facilities and also a strong increase in the intra-regional tourism. From this increased number of tourists, Middle East earned a total of US$ 13 billion averaging to US$ 470 per person (www.maldivestourism.gov.mv). As compared to its inbound tourism, Middle East produced only 15 million tourists which had a 2.2% share in the world outbound tourist figures but significantly it was a 10.9% increase compared to its year 2001 figures (www.world-tourism.org). So from this it is inferred that Middle East is more of an inbound region.…
