A World without Science
World without science…!!!

Introduction:

Science is knowledge attained through study or practice. It’s every time you turn on a light or start a car. Now imagine how our world would be without cars, light, major medical advances or anything that involves science. We’ve grown so accustomed to having this knowledge and being so scientifically advanced, we couldn’t survive without it.

Electricity:

Without electricity there would be zero entertainment. There wouldn’t be any TV’s, computers, iPods, cell phones, etc. But do we really need those things? I personally don’t think so. One hundred years ago, people didn’t have those things and they were living their lives perfectly fine. But without electricity there wouldn’t be any heat, which means when winter came, people would either starve or freeze to death. Another part of electricity that is saving lives now would be refrigeration, without refrigeration the food would spoil. People would get very ill with diseases like salmonella and other food poisonings.

Technology:

Without technology, the world would be a different place. If all these social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace didn’t exist, nothing would be the same. IPods and television have become some of the most important things today. All of these are huge distractions from schoolwork and physical activity. They’ve replaced reading. Without it all, kids today would be so much healthier. They wouldn’t have a computer to sit on all day and do nothing, or a TV to watch all day. If it wasn’t for this everyone would be so much more active, they would be more physically fit. School grades would improve majorly.

Transportation:

Without science, there wouldn’t be any transportation today, and without transportation we wouldn’t know that there is more than one continent on this planet. We wouldn’t have any way to leave our land to travel anywhere else. Without transportation we would have never travelled to the moon, or even into space.

To me, science is the observation, identification, description, experimental investigation, theoretical explanation, and classification of phenomena. However, the sum is only equal to all its parts, meaning if just one of these scientific processes is missing, it cannot be qualified as a true “science”. The science must be able to exhibit empirical knowledge; based on observation and experiment, as well as a priori knowledge; depends upon reasoning. These epistemological concepts lay the groundwork for defining a science.…

Every day people use electricity. We use it to power our phone, and televisions. We use electricity to get ourselves to where we need to be, but people don’t just use electricity to power the vain things in life. Some people can’t even see or hear without it. To some having electricity is the difference between life and death. Without electricity we wouldn’t have nearly as many medical advances as we do today all the people that rely on electric devices at hospitals would probably be dead.…

From my car, saving me from having to walk long distances, to my microwave that allows me to prepare food quickly, science has made my life easier. I am able to have an indoor job working on a computer because of science. I also get to enjoy year-round air-conditioning and heat. At any given time, I can use a phone to call someone thousands of miles of away, and speak to them just as if they were standing right next to me. Science has given me machinery to automate things, electricity to power all my electrical products, as well as better medicine, and a more evolved understanding of myself and the world I live in. If science did not exist, I would have to do things the long way, and have to do them manually. The world would be a much harder place to live in without the hope of a better tomorrow. And ultimately, that is what science gives me,…

Technology is the present world. It affects people’s daily lives. Whether it inspires somebody to be the master at videogames or makes somebody a computer hacker. It has changed the generation of teenagers/young adults rapidly. It has made the generation more greedy, ignorant, and lazy. For instance, my parents did not have fancy cell phones or high-tech computers back then because it was never created. They only had a bike and ball until it was worn out. They never thru a fit for not getting what they wanted or sat at home, playing videogames for numerous hours. They would ALWAYS be outside, whether the weather was hot or cold, playing soccer or having a snowball fight with their friends. And when they didn’t want to go outside, they sat down, read a book, played cards, or even drank hot cocoa. Now a day, it’s all about getting an ipod touch or a phone with a touch screen. Soon, people will have chairs that will fly around to get a soda from the fridge so they don’t have to get their butt up and walk. Though there seems to be more negative influence of technology, there may still be some silver lining.…

Without an automobile I would not be able to travel from one place to another in a lesser amount of time. Also, if a required something immediately I would not be able to go get it. Moreover, if I were in need of medical services I wouldn’t be able to drive to a hospital in proximity. Eye glasses are essential tool in my life since I have myopia. I have been wearing eye glasses since I was five years old. Without eye glasses I wouldn’t be able to see anything which in turn would slow down my reflexive abilities as well as lengthen the time I need in order to respond to stimuli. Electricity is the energy supplied in the form of currents to houses or other buildings for heating, lighting, or powering appliances. If electricity was no longer available to me other aspects of my life would also be affected. Losing all or any of these inventions would affect my life and most likely change the way how I function.…

Science is a system of acquiring knowledge based on scientific method and research. Science is also a continuing effort to discover and increase human knowledge and understanding. Modern science is relatively new having it's origin about 350 years ago. Inspite of it's recent origin it has made very rapid progress and completely transformed outwardly the manner of our living. But before that Science was not an organised branch and neither were there any scientists. Instead there were primitive men who were less evolved and for whom the earth was a big puzzle. He did not dare to venture to places unknown to him to avoid any mishap. The sun, the moon and the stars amazed him. These heavenly bodies were held in great reverence. He was helpless and at the mercy of nature. Hence, he worshipped its forces. But his inquisitive nature made him do some primitive research. And the invention of the wheel and the discovery of fire were his achievements. This initiation into the scientific arena was a small step for man but a giant leap for mankind. It is because of the scientific knowledge accumulated over the last three centuries, and its application in the form of technology that our lives have changed outwardly. It didn't change as much in thousands of years as it has changed since the last one hundred years or so. The impact of science on society is very visible. Progress in agriculture, medicine and health care, telecommunications, transportation, computerization and so on, is part of our…
