You Are the Salutatorian-Ma'Am Ella
A dream becomes a goal when action is taken toward its achievement.
-Bo Bennett

Every person in the world has an achievement that is memorable for them. It can be his/her only achievement or it is the greatest achievement he/she got.

“YOU ARE THE SALUTATORIAN” – Ma’am Ella

“You are the salutatorian”, Ma’am Ella Said to Me, At this time I felt shocked and I do not know what to say after it. I’m speechless that time, I just replied “Thank you Ma’am”. I said that with a big-big smile.

I cant imagine that I am the salutatorian because my other classmate is the
2nd honor for the 1st and 2nd grading. I remember the time when we are practicing for the graduation and I do not know where to fall in. In the First- honorable mention or in the salutatorian line?

“You can do that,Donna!”, My mother said. “You can be the salutatorian, Just pray to the Lord and he will answer your prayers”, My mother added,
“Yes Mom!, I can do that” , I replied

When I was 4 years old, I remember the time that my teacher write a letter ‘I’ and some materials that starts with that letter in the whiteboard, she asked me to read what is in the whiteboard. She was impress in what I have done. I was very proud of myself. I remember also that when your answer is right, you have a candy.

Anyone can have achievement like mine but we should strive hard to have an achievement that is greater than we are expecting to have. We shouldn’t be over proud for what we had got. We should stay humble and quiet, have a faith in god and don’t forget to pray.

The importance of this first step cannot be overstated. What it demands is that you articulate as specifically as possible the target you are aiming form, your final destination. By not setting a goal that is clear and specific, a student coming into the university or registering for a class or joining any social, religious or political network has put the cart before the horse and God knows where that will lead. Steve Covey (1999) uses the analogy of how one follows a blueprint when building a house. In Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, Covey further relates that a good way to achieve success in any endeavor is “to begin with the end in mind.”A pilot who takes off from Enugu Airport has the flight’s end in mind; the taxi driver who…

Okay, so I was in first grade. Lisa Frankel's first grade classroom, one of the biggest in the whole school. It had a single stall bathroom in it and one of those foam mats. You know the ones I’m talking about right? They’re made of this foam material and they’re shaped like puzzle pieces, so you can just buy them separately and put them together. They had a rug too, with the alphabet on it because first graders need help identifying letters or something [laughs uncomfortably] I don’t know. So yea, Lisa Frankel's class, she was pretty nice. Her teacher’s aide was an ass, but I’m getting to that. We’re little, and our handwriting is a disaster, so we’re practicing writing the number 8. Up until then the trick was to draw two connected circles,…

One week ago, I’ve faced the most difficult task in my life, because, as you know I am a very shy person. For just one single day I’ve become a teacher, I must admit at the beginning, this task was very simple, at the end I found myself with a lot of job ahead of me ,because; I haven’t any single idea that how to be a teacher in front of a class. So, I was doomed. I made a lot of research that how to prepare a class, how to stand in a classroom, how to speak with the people in the classroom, even how to get dressed for that day. For real I was lost.…

Then, teacher came closer and closer to me with that small case. There were many butterflies inside my stomach just like today. She told me to pick one of the paper strip and show it to others. It was "toilet". She wanted me to make a sentence using "toilet" and to say it out loud in front of the audience. I gingerly answered "The toilet of school was very dirty and smelly also." and my teacher had corrected me. "The school toilet was very dirty and smelly.". That was the first time I spoke english out loud in front of so many. Well, it turned…
