Xbox or Playstation? Gamers have argued over which is better ever since they first came out. Microsoft and Sony have been in competition for years, ever since Microsoft released the Xbox to compete with the almighty PS2. The newest consoles from these companies, the Xbox One and the PS4 have yet again been a major battle. The new game stations have up to date hardware, slim designs, and great games.

Both the Xbox One and PS4 are only available in black, but VERY rare white Xbox Ones were given out to the employees at Microsoft and some are probably for sale online at ridiculous prices. The Xbox One measures at 13.5 in. x 10.4 in. x 3.2 in. while the smaller PS4 is 10.8 in. x 12 in. x 2 in. The PS4 also has a slightly angled shape that makes it stand out a little more in a game room versus the Xbox One that is more heavy but is rectangular …show more content…
Xbox One has both High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) input and output whereas the PS4 has only the output. The PS4 has no USB ports for flash drives or any headset that needs a USB plugged in the system. Xbox One now has two USB ports for flash drives for extra storage and allows you to use a mouse and keyboard to play (if the game is compatible). Xbox One and PS4 both have more power than their predecessors and both Microsoft and Sony have used the past models design flaws to improve the latest consoles. Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) is a chip manufacturer that makes the hardware chips for both consoles, the Xbox One has a 1.75 GHz AMD 8-core CPU, while the PS4 has a 1.6 GHz AMD 8-core CPU. The difference means Xbox One has an 10% increase in processing power compared to the PS4 . The graphics card will affect how fast graphics load and how good they look. Xbox One has an AMD Radeon GPU with 1.31 teraflops, but the PS4 beats it in this category with a AMD Radeon GPU of 1.84 teraflops. Xbox One supports both 2.4 GHz and 5GHz, PS4 has limitations to 2.4GHz
