world hunger problem and solutions
I think that the first thing that needs to be done to help combat world hunger is education. People in developed countries need to realize that hunger is a problem. As they always say, acceptance is the first step. However, this obviously won't be fixing any problems. But I think first is to devise a way to limit our waste. We currently have so much food that is just thrown away. It's inevitablethat not all food will be saved: some will be thrown away, but if we could utilize more of this food into compost, it would be better for our environment and would contribute to making healthy food for the future. Stores and restaurants that have too much food at the end of the day should donate food to local shelters. While this won't fix global problems, it will help local problems. I think that we also need change in our farming legislation. We currently have so many subsidies on corn and the like (ironic I dislike, I know, considering I'm from Iowa!) that it becomes cheaper to use it not only for sweeteners that are bad for us (like high fructose corn syrup), but it also makes us want to give food aid from our own country instead of helping other countries create their own sustainable agriculture. These are things that predominately focus on the local solutions for people here, in various developed nations. For international needs, I believe that we need to work on sustainable agriculture. I once went to a World Affairs Seminar on World Hunger, and there we heard from a man called Will Allen. Mr. Allen received a MacArthur Genius Award for his studies of soil. He is using natural, sustainable measures to make soil healthier, which in turn grows better, more nutritious food. He has made several sustainable "plants" of sorts (greenhouse like things) to help create and distribute this soil, and the results have been amazing. So it's not that these places can't make the foods they need to survive, merely that because of past techniques, deforestation, etc, the soil is

Child hunger is a problem that does need to be put to an end, and I believe this is a paper that may help people understand why. This essay states reasons as to why a family might have so much child hunger or even starvation at all, such as “The people who run food banks report that most of their clients are minimum-wage workers who can’t afford enough to eat on their salaries.” this quote shows one main reason why families have so much starvation, and it’s because one person working doesn’t make enough to pay bills, to buy clothes, buy food, and do much more for…

But will the entire world work together to end it? No, the world will not band together. The Eastern Hemisphere and The Western Hemisphere will remain completely adverse to the other and only try and help their sides of the world. But if world hunger is a global problem shouldn't we all work together to fix it? The world should band together and work on a solution as a whole instead of separate countries only helping the impoverished countries. World hunger affects developed and developing countries and as the world population grows with every passing minute, so does the number of impoverished people in the…

If sharing is caring, nobody seems to care about all the starving souls in Africa or the homeless people on the streets in America. Mahatma Ghandi once said "Be the change you want to see in the world". It is extremely depressing how America throws away and wastes so much food, when other countries are having to bust their butts just to get a bite of anything. I believe that anybody can make a difference in the world, but not everybody has the heart for it. Donating to soup kitchens, joining an organization created to stop world hunger, and running campaigns to raise awareness about world hunger, are just a few ways to make a difference and if everybody in America did at least one of them we could end hunger in our own country. It could…

The action plan has to do with my partner and I informing students about World hunger. On how amazingly it’s grown. The plan is to inform students and families in our communities on how people around the world, different communities and even neighbors go to sleep hungry. We want to make them realize that the more food there is the more the hunger there is. We plan on doing a bake sale and selling many goodies such as brownies, cookies, cupcakes and even sundaes! It may not be a big event but that little donation could help feed a few empty stomachs. We plan on donating to Food banks, Shelters, and missions in our own community. We chose our community because its one step at a time and what better than helping those around us in need. Another thing is that we are also making ribbons to support the cause. The ribbons we will make will be orange and yellow we will be giving them out during our presentations. They are going to represent how even with a little donation or a can of food you helped someone go to bed with a full tummy and a smile on their face. We also created an article that explains on how people suffer from hunger. We are hoping that these articles we wrote would help parents and students realize on how we should be thankful that we have a good meal everyday. We hope to impact people with our project and to help those in need. Because you never know maybe someone real close to you is suffering and you might not even…

Food insecurity and hunger are ongoing problems that face the United States population every day. As that population in America grows so does the amount of people who are living without the proper amount of food and nutrition.
