Wicca Research Paper

Wicca is a nature religion, its members do believe in the big Goddess and the big God as well as in the power of the nature. In their believes, everything belongs together and the whole life is a big running circle. Everything in nature and in life is worshipped. This religion itself is very young and does only exist since the first half of the 20th century, but the most of the believes, faiths and also rituals do base on very, very old traditions, that are much older than the popular big religions like Christianity – the most of those traditions do come from the Old Way, which was common before Christianity.
Like I mentioned, there are the two big Gods (the Goddess and the God), but there are as well some other Gods, who are prayed to. This means, that Wicca is not monotheistic (this would mean, that only one God would exist). This is very important to know, because this the most important point to see, that Wicca does belong to Paganism.
It includes all religions, that believe that there are more than one only one God. Pagans do not pray to really all Gods, but they do not regret, that they don’t exist.
But there are also some more characteristics, that religions have, that do belong to Paganism: a strong relationship to nature, the believe in magick and phenomena like for example ghosts, the missing of an awaking message, the missing of a central book, a less strong polarized scheme of good and bad and a less pronounced separation between this and thereafter.
Here are some examples for religions, that are Pagan: Celtic Paganism, Romanism, Hellenism, Shintoism. But there are also some more, that I did not mention here.
So by knowing the characteristics of Paganism, we can see, that Wicca does also belong to Paganism. That means, that all Wiccans are Pagans (in detail Neo-Pagans), but not all Pagans are
