Why i choose Southwest
As a graduating senior I was under a lot of pressure trying to decide which college was best for me. I didn’t know where I wanted to attend mainly because I didn’t know what I wanted to major in. I chose Southwest Tennessee Community College for a few reasons; not knowing what I wanted to major in, flexible schedules, support services, and being able to transfer credits over to any four year University. Not knowing what I wanted to major in had held me back from going to a University. I wanted to transition into college from high school by going to Southwest. Along with the transition I wanted some time to figure out what it is I want to do in the future. Going to Southwest allows me to do just that and further my education next year at a four year University. Also financially, choosing Southwest for my first year is more affordable for me and allows me to explore my interests of study. While being a full time student, I also have many responsibilities. Having responsibilities takes up a lot of time. Southwest provides many flexible schedules and numerous support services to allow me to balance my school work with my job and my family obligations. The teachers primary focus and attention is on the students to help them achieve and get to know them better with smaller class sizes.

There are many paths and plans you can follow to get to where you want to be. Once I know what I want to major in, Southwest will let me transfer my credits over to a four year University. It’s easy to further your education anywhere after Southwest. It also allows me a chance to higher my grade point average for scholarships. The counselors are here for the students for guidance and help to make sure we get where we want to be. I’m glad I chose Southwest Tennessee Community College for my first year. Southwest allows me to do everything that I need to do. I’m perusing a higher education at a fraction of the cost, while exploring my options and interests to find

Having small classes give teachers time to meet one on one with you. Also teachers go more into depth on subjects and always change in class. There are less than 20 people in each of your classes. The academics are nationally known, which is a huge plus. You defiantly get a good degree by going there. It’s very hard to believe that there are so many options for students to get an education right now. Students have the options to physically go to class, take them online, receive certification training and the list goes on. I graduated high school in 2002 and around that time, it seems that I only had two options: community college or a four-year university. Personally, I was leaning towards a Prince Georges Community College in Largo, MD, but my traditional parents disagreed. They were urging me to attend Towson University in Towson, MD. I really had to sit down and debate the pros and cons of both, before I could make a final decision.…

Choosing to attend Rock Valley College was not a hard decision for me. It was always one of my top choices when I was deciding on where I would go to continue my education. I ended up choosing RVC over my other options for a few reasons. One reason is that RVC is in Rockford and close to home. After considering all my options, I realized I was not ready to leave home yet. I felt as though I would need a transitional period to help me adjust to college life and RVC would be the perfect place for that. Another reason is the price of RVC. This was a big factor for me because I did not have much financially to afford to go off to a four-year college immediately. Rock Valley gave me the option to take classes that I would take at a four- year for…

Maybe you don't know what you want from life, but we all know we want to be successful. As I oscillated between a few high schools I knew I wanted to leave a mark on the world, because being known is amazing. I know how to get it, I know what I have to do to get it, and I know where I needed to be to get it. I decided to attend BCTHS after my amble tour through the building. At that point I believed it would make me successful, and I knew I could endure this challenge on my own. I knew that there will be competition, but I also knew that I will still be successful. Success to me means going to a great college, and one day be well known for the creativity in my art and photography. I wanted to start ahead of the competition, and I knew I couldn't do this unless I attend BCTHS, especially when my two favorite career classes are dovetailed as one.…
