Why you should go to Brazil!
Topic: Brazil: Country of Mystery

Specific Purpose: To persuade my audience that they should plan a trip to Brazil.

Thematic Statement: Brazils wonder and exotic attributes alone are reason enough for all of you to come visit this land of beauty.

Introduction

I. Have you ever wanted to go surfing on white sand beaches where the people are beautiful and everything is cheap. Have you ever wanted to see the diversity and wonder of the Amazon mixed in with the cement jungle of Sao Paulo. Well, if you have all of this can be seen in one country alone and that is Brazil.

II I must tell you that all I will speak about today is first hand information mixed in with contributions from three various sources. Believe me, what you are about to hear today is the real deal.

III Today I will guide you on a tour through four marvelous treasures of Brazil and why you should soon be on a mission of buying that plane ticked and getting it all started. I will talk to you about Travel Magazines four recommendations for visiting Brazil: Rio de Janeiro, the Amazon, Foz de Igazu, Salvador, and various other quirks of visiting it.

I. Rio de Janeiro is in my opinion and most Brazilians the most beautiful city in the world. I will show some quick pictures here so you can realize how truly magnificent the bird's eye view is. According to Brazil Travel News, Rio is also the most popular and loved city by tourists who visit Brazil.

A: This city is encircled my Atlantic Ocean with white sand beaches and mountains on the back. The center of the city holds a large bay and the easy and west have small rivers. Truly a magnificent city visually Rio is said to have far more interesting details.

B: its nightlife is unsurpassed by any other city I have seen in the world as the people live to be festive and joyous day in and day out.

C: Simply keep in mind that when you visit this city everyone that you will see on the beach and in the city will have the most beautiful tan and in good shape. You might want to work out a little before you visit.

D: I am going to show a few pictures of the world famous Carnival as I know you have all heard about its wild nights and crazy days.

E: Let me finish my discourse on Buzios, which is right outside of Rio de Janeiro and haven to the wealthy of the world. According to the NYTimes and Brazilians in General, Buzios is a gem needed to be seen first hand. Its 138 beaches have 17 different sand colors and 4 different watercolors; with palm trees growing every such way.

II. I imagine all of you are fascinated with the Amazon as we are told and everybody knows that it holds the greatest diversity of animals and plants known to our planet.

A: I took a trip there and I must tell you it was truly remarkable. I saw animals that were so incredible strange and I was able to pick up baby crocodiles out of the water. There were monkeys flying overhead and even swam with piranhas. I wouldn't have missed it for the world and would offer all of you my strong willed suggestion of taking a stroll through its wonder.

B: Although many people are not going to be willing to live in a rundown motel for one week so they can visit the rivers natural beauty, they do have day packages that leave from the industrial and fast growing city of Manaus.

C: I deeply urge you to visit the Amazon if you ever have the chance to take a stroll through Brazil, as it is truly one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. I will now touch on the beautiful Foz de Igacu.

III. I have previously spoken to all of you regarding the Foz and to its enormous size and incredible beauty. When you look at those towering waterfalls beating down at the rocks with out any end it is truly capturing. I visited the Foz two times as I found them truly breathtaking.

A: The Foz de Igacu does not simply offer the water falls, as there are several other things to appreciate. For one, it is located next to a tranquil city that begins to shake the ground with clubs and nightlife at night. You are also able to cross the Foz and visit Argentina and its different type of living without spending more than 10$. It offers repelling trips off of certain waterfalls and several hiking trips through the Atlantic Rainforests. Truly an outdoorsman's dream.

B: Lastly, the Foz allows you the ability to see vary vary strange creatures to be found in your vary own room while you are out and about. They are actually very cute so you don't have to worry about this too much. The Falls are truly one of the true wonders of South America and must be visited if the time is available to you.

IV. Salvador, if you say this name aloud to a Brazilian you will see them get a big smile and remember their own wilder days. Honestly speaking I truly believe it is a location that serves millions of tourists a year by satisfying their hedonistic desires. Lets see why!

A: Salvador as stated in the previous speech I gave is the Afro-Brazilian capital of Brazil. It serves as the center of Carnival for all Brazilians, while we foreigners want to believe it is Rio de Janeiro. The key difference in the 2 is that in Rio you watch the Carnival and in Salvador you are dancing in it with hundreds of thousands of people who pay to dance, "ficar," and enjoy themselves.

B: Every beach in Salvador is white sand and surfing is not done only in the water. Many of the beaches by Salvador are next to 80 ft tall sand dunes that can be surfed on a similar style board. This provides a great thrill to any adrenaline seekers out there. Dune buggies are quite popular to rent, however, try not to flip and get stuck in-between two sand dunes as there is not much hope for getting out without a very very very long walk back to the place you rented it out.

C: I do believe that one of the important things about visiting Salvador is that as stated previously it is the Afro-Brazilian culture capital and kind of gives you a holistic view of Brazilian culture in general. I think this is truly important in becoming aware of a countries essence.

V. I am going to give some quick little tid-bits of information on why you would also benefit from visiting Brazil. First, you will live like a king because the currency is 3-1 against the dollar. This might not sound so much of a difference, but there pricing structure is completely different to our and in real terms it is more or less around 5-1. As a student, I frequented 5-star restaurants and glamorous hotels. Second, for the men in my audience all of have to say is "Brazilian women fit their stereotype" as being beautiful. To the women in my audience who enjoy shopping I will tell you that you will find more clothing from Europe at ¼ the price.

Conclusion

After my recent trip to Brazil, I must say that I have a strong passion for this country. Every aspect of its culture revolves around enjoying yourself and living life to the fullest even when you are without money or a place to stay. I do believe that the four tourist locations I spoke about would give any visitor a wholesome picture of Brazil. So, I want each and every one of you to go home and jump on the Internet or call your travel agent and set up that trip you have needed for so long.

Brazil is a vast country rich in natural resources and beauty in the continent of South America. Located in the east-central coast of South America, it is the largest country in South America occupying nearly half the continent. Brazil’s topography is vast with its most priceless treasures inarguably being the Amazon Rain Forest. The Amazon River and its components attribute to two fifths of the country with the Amazon Basin making up 40% of the continent of South America (“Brazil”, n.d.). The Portuguese settlers were the first to arrive in Brazil and quickly found they were not alone, discovering the many tribes of natives that called Brazil their home for hundreds and maybe even thousands of years. These Portuguese settlers were not determined to conquer as the Spaniards, but were poor sailors who were seeking items for trade. This made it easy for the settlers to intermarry with the natives as well as the slaves they had brought from Africa, creating the mix of races known in Brazil today (Geographia, 2006). The Portuguese were not the only ones to seek Brazil to escape their situation and they were quickly joined by many immigrants such as French, Dutch, German, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, African and Arab, with Portuguese remaining the dominant and official language of Brazil. These cultures have blended into one…

The Federative Republic of Brazil, located in South America, is the largest country in Latin America and the fifth-largest country in the world (Burns, 1993). The roots leading to the establishment of the federative republic began more than half a millennium ago. In 1500, a Portuguese expedition left Portugal headed for the southern tip of Africa, to sail around the Cape of Good Hope and then go north to India (Skidmore, 1999). However, the lead ship, commanded by Pedro Álvares Cabral, went off course into the Atlantic eventually reaching what is now the Brazilian state of Bahia (Burns, 1993). They docked in Brazil on April 23, 1500 (Skidmore, 1999).…
