Why Should The Legal Driving Age Should Be Raised To 18?
Driving age 18 Why should the legal driving age not be eighteen? I believe that the driving age should be raised to eighteen. Some teens have no reason to be driving, some have a lack of experience, and most of them are not even mature yet. Also, teens get into more car accidents than anyone in a different age. First or all, teens have no reason to be driving, some have nowhere to go. When teenagers become eighteen they probably might have a job or they will probably be buying groceries or supplies. Therefore, they will be driving place to place, but for now young teens would be driving for no reason. Even if they need to go somewhere they can always walk, bike, or take a bus. “Do we really want our kids dependent upon parents for virtually everything until they go to college, can vote, and serve their country?” asked Margett Monttoi. Teens can do many things on their own, they are not useless. They do not need to rely on their parents or anybody. …show more content…
Doctors say about 50% of teens get into car accidents. Some teens forget to put on a seatbelt, drink or take alcohol, text while driving, and speed. Driving is all about safety, some teens do not even care. Teenagers should take this seriously, driving is very dangerous. “Intense focus on teens diverts our attention from the real threats to public safety speeding and driving while intoxicated.” said Karen Sternheimer. Well, teens are the reason why we have these threats. Teens are immature; they should not be driving yet. Teens should drive when they are eighteen. They should drive when they are young responsible

On this personal issue i do not agree with changing the minimum driving age. Many teens look forward to getting to drive. It wouldn't be the right thing to do. No i don't think the minimum driving age should be changed. If are legislature changed the minimum driving age we would have to have a lot more transportation for schools. Students wouldn't be aloud to drive to school. If are legislature changed the driving age they would be taking away the only freedom they have. It would also be hard for parents to get there kids from after school activity's. Some parents need there kids to be able to run places for them lick picking up siblings. They also may need them to go to the store to pick things up for them. They…

There might be some exceptions why they should keep it at 16 but due to the high rate of teen crashes they should raise the age to 17. Statistics have shown that teenagers have a higher chance of accidents. Teenagers from the ages of 15 to 17 are more likely to cause a car crash for many reasons. While teenagers go out at night and drive around with friends and only have their permit, they are putting other’s people life at risk. The three main reasons why teenagers should be at least the age of 17 to be able to get their permit is because they drive and text,…

First teens should not drive because at sixteen they are still irresponsible. They are still immature and not fully developed in their brains. They also aren't use to the big responsibly of taking care and pay for a car. They don't realize that you have to pay for gas, insurance and extras for a car. They will take advantage of the fact that they can drive. Teens may not accept the fact that this is driving and you can injour you and others around you. Driving is one pretty big step at sixteen from nothing to be responsible for to having to take care and pay for a car. Teens also may not take driving as serious as compared to grown adults would. If they take their drivers test later on they may be more serious because they really do need to drive, not just wanting to. The more the person needs or wants something the more they will try their best to succeed.…
