Why Should Teachers Have Longer School Hours
Why would teachers want longer school days, when our normal days are long enough. If we extend our days with another 30 minutes, then it has been proven that all together it would add up to 200 extra hours of school each year. I determine that adding more time to the school day is ignorant. We should not add 30 minutes to the school day because it is too much learning, students need rest, and it will not be enough time spent with your family. The inaugural reason is that it is too much learning. Adding more time to the school day will add more stress. Some students will start to not pay attention. More students will start either leaving early, or will not show up to school. Other students will be tired. That is one reason why we should not

The traditional schedule for school is outdated because in the old days, it allowed for children to help harvest crops during the summer. Now, the long summer just enables kids to be lazy and easily forget what they learned at the end of the previous school year. If a year round school year were to be implemented, kids would not be able to be as lazy and breaks would not be so long as to let kids forget a whole bunch of their school curriculum.…

On the other hand, Critics believe that students should be spending more days in school rather than fewer. In fact, in the United States of America many states require school to be in session for a minimum of 180 days, which is almost three weeks less than other developed countries in Europe and Asia. For instance, China and Korea have more than 220 school days (Kingsbury). However, a four day school week will not reduce the time spent in school. It will redistribute the time going to school into four days instead of five days. Therefore the school days will be longer in a four day school week to encompass the correct amount of hours required.…

Therefor I don’t think our school board should add time to each school day. I think we should keep our schedule starting at 7:30 and ending at 2:30. That way we can get home do chores, play and go to any afterschool activities. If we changed our school hours that would interfere with parents/guardians work schedules. Now with the schedules our school has we don’t get to restless with the teachers or other…

If we have school all year round kids will be learning 3 extra months of knowledge and more is better. Kids will be smarter and when applying to highschool and college they will be more likely to succeed , and every parent wants to see their child succeed in life. As soon as school lets out for Summer break, students forget everything they learn and care more about who can make the biggest cannonball, and eventually all that knowledge will just fall down the drain, having school all year round at QMS means no more knowledge wasted.…

The first year that we could have it in the school, there would be many mistakes and I believe that it might not help student out. If we could change the schedule it might make it harder on the students and, they do not want to make it more stressful on the students. Since that it would affect the whole primary, middle, and high school it would be a big change for all of us. I don’t necessarily believe that the student would go for this idea of changing the schedule.…

I agree that schools should extend the school day so it can start later on in the morning. Source number two sates that if teens go sleep late when they wake up they will be tires in the morning. Due to students staying up late then waking up early, the simple task of staying focused or awake in class is pretty challenging. While they are unfocused in class it is hard for them to learn anything which simply causes them to get involved in crimes like drinking…

The school board should not extend the school day because it cost more money for the school, it interferes with after school activities, and you also have to go home later. The reason why it would cost more money is because it's more electricity. Another reason it would cost more money is because it's more food they have to pay for. The last reason is is they have to pay more workers.…

Moreover, having students stay in school for more days can help the school meet its needs. A better explanation would be schools would have no problems, economically. To prove the point, students buy snacks, lunch, parking, and materials. Students don't realize how much they help the school pay its bills such as diesel, supplies, and utility payments. Having a four day school week can increase the…

The idea of adding one and a half hours to the school day each day is an absolutely terrible idea. First, I fill that an extension to the school day will bring no benefits to students or staff. If an extra hour and a half get added to the school day there will be no other time for extracurricular activities. Sports, clubs, and meetings will be very hard to attend because there will hardly be any time. Also there is so much stress put onto students and staff already, so if even more time gets tacked onto the school day the staff and students will be very fatigued. Most people think the school day is long enough as it is, so even with the hours of school today there is hardly any time for students or staff to get home to their family. Again, The school board members must rethink the idea of adding even more time onto the school day.…
