We always hear about a person who becomes an entrepreneur. Some entrepreneurs succeed and some of them do not. Who's an entrepreneur? Why should anyone become an entrepreneur? There are some motivators that make people willing to take this major step. Entrepreneurship gives people the chance to be their own bosses, make money, escape a bad situation, enjoy a satisfying life, and contribute to the community. To be your own boss is an important reward of entrepreneurship. A survey of small business owners shows that 38% of them who left their former jobs at other companies said that they desired to be their own boss (Moore et al, 2008). This was the main reason they left. Being your own boss is an attractive idea. The independence offered is the main motive. For instance, Karen Taylor who was working in advertising and public relations for a long time started a public relations firm for her own which called Southwest Ink. “I may work more hours some weeks, but they’re my hours”, says Taylor (‘Customer Service Champ’). For sure, the independence does not mean an easy life. Working hard for long hours is what most entrepreneurs do. They must keep in mind that the ‘customer is the boss’. Restraints raised by economic and other environmental factors, involving unwanted working conditions do not keep them from feeling satisfied about making their own decision. There are many ways to earn money, starting your own business is one of them. As any other job or career, entrepreneurship provides financial needs.
