Human trafficking is said to be one of the fastest growing criminal enterprises in the world. If you vote yes your voting yes to helping capture this criminals. The average age that a victim is first trafficked for sex in the U.S. is just 12-14 years old. There has been cases of even younger victims. We're talking about a brutal violation of basic human rights, women and children who are sold as modern-day slaves or forced to prostitute themselves. Human traffickers prey on women and children who run away, often from abusive homes, as well as immigrants who flee poverty for a better life only to find themselves being exploited and abused. This is not what we want our country to be known as we want people to feel safe in this country not feel like they have to turn around every 5 min. Prop. 35 doubles sentences for human trafficking, puts child sex-traffickers in prison for life, and permits fines up to $1.5 million.
You may think this is a waste of money but either way we are wasting money every day. If we just let this continue this will just end up becoming a even bigger problem in the next few years. Human trafficking is already the 2nd largest problem all around the world next to drug trafficking being the 1st . If we help stop or at least decrease this problem we then can forces on other problems. By also voting yes to prop 35. You are also helping increases the technology and pay for more workers to work for the FBI to help finding this criminals witch helps open new jobs and help the economy. The State Department estimated in 2010 that there were as many as 12 million victims worldwide. If we vote no then we would have to be putting money from our own pocket if one of our friends or family members was ever taken by one of this traffickers. One vote equals one less chance of human trafficking. VOTE YES!!
