TOPIC: Pit bulls are actually great dogs to own
PURPOSE: To inform the audience of common misconceptions of pit bulls, and provide insight into the true sides of pit bulls. Also to provide information to know if they are right to own a pit bull.
THESIS: Although pit bulls are usually classified as vicious and unpredictable dogs, they are actually very wonderful pets
INTRODUCTION: 1. There are many types of dogs, but one misunderstood breed are the pit bulls (common myth) 2. Although portrayed as no good, they are extremely loyal, protective, playful, and well rounded dogs. 3. Today we’ll debunk some common myths about pit bulls, and we shall also learn why they are truly wonderful pets
BODY: 1. Pit bulls have been given a bad reputation for an extremely long time, but for no reason
I. Commonly used amongst people as a “fighting dog”, doesn’t determine the dogs personality only the owners
II. Pit bulls have “locking jaws” is simply not true
2. Pit bulls are great dogs to own I. loves playing fetch other games etc. II. Trainable
III. loyal pets
IV. I own one
3. Although they are excellent pets caution and consideration should still be taken
I. Like any other dog/animal you never know what’s going to happen
III. Don’t have the same average life span (8-9 years)
IV. Just might not be the dog for you
