Why One Should Not Steal
Someone would say stealing is only right when you are poor, homeless, or to help your family. There are many times when people have said “we needed to steal even though we did not want to, because we had to survive.” In my opinion, no matter what the circumstances are, stealing anything, from anyone, is not morally right, is unjust, causes consequences, and most importantly, defies, breaks, and sometimes completely diminishes, trust. Although I did not intentionally steal from my parents, this essay will be about why stealing money from parents is wrong.
First of all, stealing things is not morally or ethically, the right thing to do. At a young age, people learn that taking things from other people without their permission is not going to be accepted as good behaviour. It is important to know that if something isn’t yours, you do not have a right to it. I’m pretty sure even in the bible it says; “thou shall not steal.” If you know something is going to be frowned upon if done, or that you would be frowned upon, upon participating in something, you simply should not partake in that action.
Another reason stealing should not be performed, is because it is unjust. Just like Antoine Lavoisier's Law of Conservation of Mass, to gain something physical from one person, means that person must have lost something. Stealing money from someone means that the amount you took is the amount they lost, and they have to make up for that loss somehow. This is not fair, because the person earned that money themselves, and should not have to work extra, to accommodate more than just them. The effort they are making for the money is not equal to the effort the thief is making, which is unjust.
Thirdly, people should refrain from robbing others, is because what comes with crime or bad behavior, is consequences. Stealing is obviously against the law. If caught doing it, it could cause you to have that on your record and this could hinder you from getting a job, etc. Not to

In Law 21 it says, “if a man has broken through the wall to rob a house, they shall put him to death and pierce him, or hang him in the hole in the wall that he has made.” (Doc D) Who wants a dead guy hanging in their wall!? Also, this is unfair because isn’t there such a thing as second chances? Should someone really be killed because he was so poor he had to resort to robbery? Second, in Law 23 it states: If the robber isn’t caught, the mayor and the city shall pay for him to replace his things. (Doc D) Why should the mayor and the city pay for him to get his things back? He can save up to buy his own things - the mayor shouldn’t have…

His acts were neither right nor good. Normally morals are taught to you by your parents or who ever is raising you. In this case we I can see where his morals may have been a tad bit screwed up because of the things his parents had done. While he was growing up his parents were caught up into some rather immoral things so maybe he figured it would be alright for him to do the same things, but take it too the next level. Even if his parents did corrupt his morals he had to have a lesson in school on not stealing from others. I remember that from elementary school. Therefore a light bulb should have gone off in his head and his heart when he began to steal all of that money. His parents should have taught him that taking what does not belong to him is called stealing and it is neither right nor good. He should have known that he would not get away with stealing forever and that one day it would catch up with him. He should have stopped a long time ago and then maybe he could have held onto some of his dignity. It still wouldn’t be right if he did stop a long time ago, but then he wouldn’t have stolen so much money from so many people. Either way it goes what he did was definitely immoral and I don’t think that there is anybody out there that would…

Eighner states that while he was dumpster diving, which he likes to call scavenging, he believes that college students throws away the best things, around breaks they usually throw stuff away because they don’t know if it is spoiled or not. He states that since it is “Daddy’s Money” they don’t think about throwing it away. The author stays on topic throughout this paragraph. Although I do not agree, he does make some good points. Usually most college students don’t have a lot of money to just throw away money or food. Some students don’t care and throw things away and be wasteful.…

Today shoplifting is one of the most common forms of theft in the United States. Shoplifting is now the number one cause for smaller stores to fail in today's market. The small stores are also the ones the usually carry the smaller items which are the easiest to receive the "five fingered discount" on. The reason shoplifting has become so big is because the thieves some how justify their actions and they also don't consider themselves thieves. The most common shoplifters are children and the senior citizens. It is the housewives and the college students that some how justify their stealing and don't consider themselves thieves.…
