Why Kids Should Be Banned
Many people tend to go on and blame the american businesses for multiple reasons; a prime example would be marketing. Parents may feel that advertising things pertaining to kids should be banned, but I beg to differ. I'm pretty sure companies intentions aren't to corrupt the mind of children, but to only make a profit from their merchandise. Now, it is understandable for a parent to be on the fence about these advertisements because i'm sure we have all seen a ad that simply wasn't for the eyes, and ears of a child, but a company has to do almost what ever it takes to sell their product by any means. Yes, it is known that kids under the age of eight are very gullible to things that they see, or hear, but american businesses shouldn't

United States faces the risk that the percentage of obesity among children will increase. The percentage of children and adolescents who suffer from this epidemic is 17% (CDC). One generation ago, the rate was three times less than now. The number of obese children is continuously growing, which may cause a danger to children and the future of the country. The risk of obesity does not only mean the risk of diseases and health problems, but also the risks associated with psychological and social impact. There is no doubt that one of the biggest causes of obesity is the unhealthy dietary choices that many children make nowadays (IOM). The larger the increase in the percentage of obese children and thereby the increase in the risks surrounding them, the greater the need to confront this problem. Companies, institutions, parents, and individuals should play a role in fighting obesity, but the role of government is most important. The government can enact laws regulating the process of junk food advertisement aimed at children that contribute to the problem significantly. Although some jurists and businessmen oppose such regulation by government, there is some evidence that regulating junk foods advertisement aimed at children yield positive results.…

Youth should not be banned from participating in sports like dodgeball, cheerleading, and football in schools. To begin, dodge ball shouldn’t be banned in school because it teaches kids mental and physical skills. According to Rick Hanthena’s opinion on dodge ball, he says, “He also argues that it teaches hand-eye coordination, concentration and the ability to to think and draw quick conclusions”(pg. 171). This proves that Rick Hanthena wants to keep dodgeball in school because of the lessons it can teach. A reason why cheerleading shouldn’t be banned in schools is because cheerleading coaches are trained and certified. My evidence from Johnson's certification is, “Johnson is an experienced coach with safety training and cheer certifications.…

Many people believe that violent video games should be banned, claiming that they have a negative effect on people. Some even say violent games make people commit violent acts. These games do influence human behavior, which is not always positive, but this does not mean that they should be banned. If a child began playing violent video games at a young age, then he might think that violence in real life is the same as the game violence and that it does not have a real impact on others. However, most children can distinguish between virtual violence and real violence.…

Schools should ban tag and other playground games. Banning tag is a good idea because it will limit the amount of injuries. When kids play tag, sometimes it can get a little too rough and lead to them getting hurt. When we ban tag, we eliminate the amount of kids that go home with injuries. To add on, banning tag and other playground games will also limit the amount of bullying.Sometimes kids are repeatedly targeted by bullies. When we take tag away, we prevent this situation from even starting. This will make sure kids feelings won't get hurt. One time my son came home crying because kids kept singling him out in tag. Taking away tag will also prevent lawsuits against schools. When kids get hurt some parents will sue the schools. This means the schools have to pay a lot of money to the parents because their kids got hurt. When we take away tag, this insures that the parents will now have little to no reason to sue the schools.…

I remember that when I was a little boy in the elementary school, I got a great deal of homework explanations from my parents. They only used to explain and giving me hints and let me do my homework many times until I get it right. In addition, they give me more work for practicing. As I got older they started backing off on me and let me do all my school stuff by myself. I think they did the right thing and I would do the same thing if I have my own kids. I believe that parents and tutors should not do the kids’ work. However, they should help them and give them more work for practicing than their homework.…

Letting Kids be Kids Parents should let their kids be who they really are. Not worry about apperences, hair style, clothing. I believe kids should be who they want to be and not what they see everyone else doing, because it’s cool, or because popular kids are doing it. I am a very strong believer in letting kids dress and do what they want to their own bodies. Well to a point.…

If people do not want to have their children around smokers that is completely up to the parent but smokers should not be denied rights to be out in public smoking. Smoking should not be illegal if it calms people with PTSD or anything of the sort. If smoking helps those who helped in the war and things then we as people should not deny them the right of smoking if they please.…
