An Argument Against Censorship Of Books In Schools

How would you feel if you or your child was prevented from reading an educational book because of possible inappropriate content? Studies show that one of the most powerul ways for a human being to educate themselves is through reading books. I support the First Amendment because it opposes the censorship in libraries because it affets peoples freedom of speech. Many things are considered inappropriate and need to be censored, but I disagree with censorship in libraries because it restricts peoples interests in several ways. Censorship in libraries goes against our right to view any book, therefor restricting my views on books. Books are censored because of content that some people disagree with. I believe that books should be left on the shelves no matter the content. The author of those books have the right for their books to be on the shelves and not be removed. I believe that personal opinions are the reason why books are censored which is extremely unfair. Each and every human has a different opinon and values, therefore, everyone reads and understands books differently. One person may disagree with the content in the book while others may agree and support the content.
