Why Is Goober Wrong
They murder him! Jerry Renault is not literally murdered that day. They start by explaining what happen to him to get murder. He only was attack on the football field. Jerry wanted to be a quarterback. The coach wanted to see how much he can handle. He is a freshman at Trinity High School. He had a confrontation with the school gang named The Vigils. The Vigils specialize in making the assignments of other students that have to complete. Jerry's friends known as The Goober gets an assignment from The Vigils. One day he sneaks into one of the classroom at night and damage the classroom by just a thread. When students came to class, everything collapses and falls apart. He suffers …show more content…
Because he of how they treaded and acted. He didn’t want to do that anymore. That is why he wanted to be different and change. The only person that understand Archie was Obie. He is the secretary of The Vigils. Goober is a victim of a Vigils assignment himself. Goober is jerrys friend. Its sad to see that fear is more controling in Goober. Friendship wasn’t strong enough. Fear control him. Its sad to see how jerry lost goober when he most needed him. Goober is justified in his action. This is cause we now that if maybe he wasnt beeing manipulated by The Vigils he might had stand out for Jerry. He responds with fear and helplessness to his own and Jerrys downfall. Jerry was all alone in his standing out to The Vigils. Jerry was the only one brave enough to go against The Vigils. And he did all of this knowing that there would be consequences. Knowing there's a reason people don't go against them in the first place. Jerry had something to belive in that's why he went against the univers. Jerry was the only one looking out for himself because everyone else was stolen afraid to look out for him. Not everyone saw Jerry's point of view. That's why Jerry's downfall wants him all alone and no one help him in his pain and hurt. Jerry wanted someone that help him. He didn’t have anyone. In the story they have a lot of morals that represented throw life situation. The Vigils for example are manipulative people how take advantage of others. By doing this they limited people to not have options. We can also consider that as a threat. Another theme represented in the story is the power of fear. We see that reflected in people in the school because the people are afraid of Archie. That

    There are many factors that cause Jerry to act the way he does. The main reason is he forced by the vigils to refuse the chocolates. "When he returned to the school after practice, he found a letter scotch-taped to the door of his locker. A summons from the vigils.
