At Gordon High School, history teacher Ben Ross is teaching his class about World War II and the Holocaust. His students are upset by the footage of concentration camps and question why the German people allowed this to happen, insisting they wouldn't be so easily duped. Ben Ross considers this and plans an experiment: the next day, he starts to indoctrinate the class using the slogan STRENGTH THROUGH DISCIPLINE. The class reacts well to this, embracing the sense of empowerment it gives them, and they continue their newly disciplined behavior into a second day of class, surprising Ross. He decides to take the experiment further and create a group, The Wave, adding two more slogans --STRENGTH THROUGH COMMUNITY and STRENGTH THROUGH ACTION - which leads to further rules of conduct and an organizational structure. In this way, The Wave takes on a life of its own. While Laurie Saunders is wary of The Wave and its effect on others, her friends are more willing to promote this movement. Her friend Amy is made a monitor, as has school outcast, Robert Billings. When Wilkerson was debating whether to file a complaint against Agua, she had to determine if he was doing anything to break the rules. If Agua was doing something sneaky or immoral to get out of teaching, then Wilkerson would have reported him. Wilkerson’s character has a high level of integrity, from the case study we can see that she has “honesty, openness, commitment, and trust,” which are some qualities for a person of high integrity (Eisenberg, Goodall & Trethewey, 2014). “Integrity is mentioned as a key element in most leadership[s]” (Palanski, Cullen, Gentry & Nichols, 2015). Wilkerson is a leader in her classroom, and this is partly because of the integrity she has. When Wilkerson did not report Agua she is still acting with integrity because she did not falsely accuse Agua with sex discrimination or demand that the school raise her salary to match his. She accepted that the extra work he does for the school earns him the $1000…

At Duncanville High School World History class the teacher Julie Phung had been lack in teaching her student all year. But one day student Jeff Bliss got fed up with her teaching strategies and decided to give his opinion about the way she teach and encourage her to teaching a different strategies that she learn them. If you can just get up and teach them instead of handing them a freakin’ packet, yo (Bliss, 2013). There are kids in here who don’t learn like that, they need to teach face-to-face (Bliss, 2013). This was not a set up but the student Jeff Bliss was tired and angry about the way he was learning so he did something about it. The students can benefits from teaching if you have effective strategies and teacher need to improve her way of teaching. Student Jeff Bliss will lose because he will get suspended and teacher will get view by the board. The position I take on this issue that student Jeff Bliss should not confront her in public but wait until after class in a calm voice. I believe she did great by telling him to leave but not saying that any student are waste her time.…

After that the class was told to discuss the worksheet from last lesson, I got the worksheet afterwards from Mr. Walker. The class was told to get into groups of 3, I was with Enrica and Jonathan. I looked through the worksheet, it was a worksheet about the play “The Zoo Story” (which is one of the parts that I missed because of Hangzhou). I didn’t know what to discuss as Enrica and Jonathan both didn’t do the worksheet and don’t really understand the play, so I asked Mr. Walker about some information of the play. The play is about 2 main characters, Peter, the “successful” man in the ply and Jerry, with mental illness and desperate to have a meaningful conversation. They met in the center of New York Park and they started chatting. They conversed a lot of meaningless stuff, like the play “The characters”, meaningless conversation. Between conversations, they’ve mentioned about their families, frinds, social lives, the zoo that owns and whole lot more. At the end of the play they argued, Jerry threw a knife at Peter and told Peter to pick it up, Jerry then rushed to peter’s hand with the knife and killed himself. Due to the limited amount of information I have, I’m not able to answer the questions, but because Enrica and Jonathan doesn’t understand too, we didn’t actually discuss, we tried to work on the questions on the worksheet instead.…
