Why I Want To Be Confirmed Essay
I believe that I am choosing and also not choosing to be confirmed for a few reasons. I am choosing to be confirmed because that is the next step I can take to be closer to God. Being confirmed seems like the last step anyone can take to have a closer to God. Also, that can be the same way in reverse on the other end. God would like to be closer to us, so through confirmation, God can be closer to us. Also, God can be guiding us through confirmation to have a stronger connection. I want to be confirmed and so does God, and that is a great gateway to a stronger connection.

Participating in Holy Communion to me means believing Jesus is present. At the beginning of it, the pastor says to come up if you believe Jesus is present, but that is only a small reason why I believe. Jesus was present in the wine and bread at the last supper, so if we remember that he will stay present during communion. Also, since Jesus died for us, participating in Holy Communion is a way to say thank you to

The first way that I will stay active in church is continuing to go to church on Sundays or Saturdays. Another way I will stay active in church is volunteer work. I like to volunteer, and I also like what I can do for the church, so that encourages me to continue. The third way that I will stay active in church is getting my family to go to church more often. Sometimes my family is busy during worship or do not want to go, so if I can get them to go when they do not want to go, it will let us be more religious when we are together. The fourth way I will stay active is, praying for people who cannot make it to church that week. The final way I will stay active is, telling the people who missed church what they missed. If a person really wanted to go to church, they will not feel as bad since they would know what they missed. Those are five ways that I will stay active in

I am writing you today as a concerned member of your congregation. Recently, I found myself on the doorstep of an old, breath-takingly beautiful cathedral, but I stumbled in only to realize that I, a devout Lutheran, am not allowed to receive communion. My lack of knowledge on the Eucharist and the guidelines the Catholic church has placed on this sacrament lead to a response of hostility and hurt on this particular guideline. I am writing to tell you that my response of hostility and hurt was wrong, and dangerous for me and my faith. To come to this conclusion, you must first understand the history behind Catholic communion, the Catholic view on transubstantiation, acceptance in relation to the Eucharist, the…

According to Morrill, in the Christian tradition, assembly is one of the most important ways that we can connect with Christ. In his Encountering Christ in the Eucharist, he argues that “ The community of faith can only exist through the sharing of that faith, which is focused in its ritual form of worship” (Morrill 21). As a young child I would grow impatient when my mother spent time after Church, with what I viewed as nonsense prattling. Now that I am older, I can see the importance that community is to the Church. Church communities are not only formed when the assembly is participating in the liturgy or service. Additionally, the ways that a Church community fellowships with each other outside of service also builds a sense of community…

Religion has always been important to me. It is something that is a part of me and being confirmed in my Christian faith is definitely something I would like to do. There are several things that make me want to be confirmed in Christian faith. The first is that it is what I truly believe in. For me it is what explains many things. I also know that God will always be there for me in Christian faith. My studies in the past six months to complete the confirmation class has verified all of my feelings I had going into the class.…

The Primary section of the service consisted or an Opening song, Greetings and Announcements, an Opening Prayer, Gospel, another Prayer, and Communion. The whole process took about an hour and a half. During the Opening song the atmosphere felt tense, everyone was very serious and it was easy to see the dedication in the crowd. It made me feel very excluded because my faith is not the same. During the greetings and announcements the tension broke and it felt more inviting while the Priest explained things that were happening in the church over the next week. The greetings were followed by an opening prayer, and then a reading from the Gospel. The same atmosphere of tension and focus returned. It seemed as though everyone other than me was possessed by the words of the priest. At this point two individuals in white robes with lit candles and baskets on polls began Collection for charity and the church. Growing up I went to a very small Baptist church where we just passed around a small basket for collections, so this process seems very overdramatic to me. After collections they started Communion where we had the option of being blessed by the priest, drinking the juice representing Christ’s blood, and eating the wafer representing Christ’s body. I would have guessed from the previous atmosphere that everyone would want to be part of this but only a handful of people participated. Mostly Parents with young children.…

I always loved school, and I was a fast learner. I was praised for my accomplishments at an early age and I believe that the satisfaction I gained from impressing others was motivation that impacted my future. I continued to do the best I could in school. My mother was very strict and tough on me when reviewing my work, ripping my essays if I wrote in sloppy handwriting and erasing all of my math problems if I got more than one wrong. It was emotionally difficult but I eventually toughened up, and her training made me a more diligent student. The only motivation I would have was the praise I would receive for amazing scores on my work. Eventually, I stopped being praised and it was devastating for me. I entered middle school and I continued…

I am using the confirmation card because I agree with you I would like to experience an event in my life knowing that the decisions I made to accomplish a certain step or to do a certain action help me to be able to reach my goal. And being able to learn from the mistakes that I made making a certain decision so that I will be able to know what not to do again. If someone was connected to a machine for the rest of their life and only be able to be disconnected from the machine to pick a new experience, then the individual would not feel the joy of experiencing how an action the person have done got the individual one step closer to their…

I was so indecisive but one day just after waking up it hit me. I love my religion and the only reason as to why I am confused is because I am not close to it. I do go to church every Sunday but I knew that was not going to cut it for me because that would not get me all the answers. That is why I took the initiative to register for my confirmation classes and I also asked my parents to sign me up to the youth retreat that was coming up. It was a very spontaneous and last minute decision but I needed that. I need to learn more about my faith because how could I learn about other religions when I have not even gone all the way with mine. Now I am currently attending confirmation classes and not to be boastful but I am the most engaged in my class. Even though this obstacle was a pretty scary and life changing it was definitely worth it. I am very thankful to God for putting this challenge because he knew it was a way to get me to be…
