Why I Hate To Cook Research Paper
I Hate to CookThe smell of raw fish and the sight of uncooked poultry can make me nauseated. The thought of putting my hands on cold bloody slabs of defrosted beef makes me want to run in terror. The heat coming off a burning hot stove and me being the one behind it, is worse than death its' self. What could be worse than death you say? I say cooking is worse than death. This is why I hate to cook.

Why do I hate to cook so much, first it's so time consuming. Figuring out what to make for dinner is like trying to figure out what topic I should write for an essay in my English class. Chicken or beef, or something much easier, a pre-cooked meal that serves six to eight people that, I can just throw in the oven. Usually in my refrigerator there isn't such a thing as a pre-cooked meal. After I figure out what type of meal I am going to make, it has already taken me twenty minutes just to do that. More of my time wasted. I could have been doing other things such as going to the nearest fast food restaurant and buying everyone in the house dinner. Waiting for meat to thaw out is another example of time wasted. I could have taken the chicken out of the freezer the night before, but I didn't. So now I have to wait and figure out what side dishes can go with chicken.

Slaving over a hot stove, waiting for the water to boil, trying to calculate what I need to start to cook first so everything will be done and ready, instead of cold and burnt. Getting everything out and ready for action to throw in the pot can be a job in its self. Peeling carrots or potatoes, chopping up onions and dicing tomatoes can put you at risk for slicing a finger or worse case scenario, chopping a finger off and having the blood get into the food can make cooking dinner a hazardous, time consuming job for a person such as

Rarely do I ever cook, so doing it for the first time seems really fun! When I do something nice for someone or something else, I feel much happier on the giving side as opposed to the receiving end. This can be compared to american football, when the quarterback passes the ball to the wide receiver. In this scenario, even though the receiver gets the glory, the truth is all the hard work was put in by the quarterback. The feeling of giving is unparalleled to any other. In conclusion, cooking for once would make me feel nice.…

Suffering. It exists, but we try to ignore it. Some of us can handle it and push it aside thinking someone else should be suffering, not me, and some of us cant. Very few of us can actually accept that suffering exist, and those same very few people, work extremely hard to get rid of it. Its sad knowing that majority of people that know it exists does not know how to get rid of it. But some people question how to eliminate it and wonder where it comes from. They may think it is from their ancestors or their past life that’s leaving their bad karma on them; they may think its God or the Devil that’s putting them through this; they even may think it is others or themselves that letting their bad…

Lying has been around since the creation of human. Adam and Eve lied to god because they were scared after they ate from the forbidden apple tree. My name is Bryan Hitchings. I am a 32 year old person passionate about food and aspiring to hone my cooking skills to become a professional chef. I have always loved cooking even as a child. When I was a child and barely able to see the eyes on a stove, I was given a stool by my grandmother and allowed to cook with her. I have had several influences such as my grandmother who was an excellent home cook, one uncle who was a chef, and another uncle who was a cook in the Navy. Though I don’t come from a large family, cooking was something that we always did together. It was fascinating seeing their different styles of cooking. My grandmother had a more traditional southern comfort style of cooking such as preparing homemade souses and head cheese. My uncle, the chef, had a classical Italian approach to food as in preparing dishes such as spinach and sausage stuffed manicotti with marinara sauce. My uncle, who cooked in the Navy, is excellent at grilling and barbecuing. With those three influences, I couldn’t help to develop a love for cooking. From the young age of 12, I was preparing full meals for my family and continue to do so today. I also enjoy the creative side of cooking how a one can take a blend of ingredients and combine them to make many different dishes exhibiting different flavors. I almost feel like a scientist sometimes in the kitchen creating meals for my family and friends. Most times the outcomes are good but I have had mishaps but that’s a part of the learning curve of cooking. When I am cooking, it’s a peaceful place for me. I feel a connection to the food I am preparing and I always like to hear feedback on the food I have prepared. This causes me to change or modify each dish to expand my knowledge and understanding of food. Food allows me to express myself and acts as a creative outlet for my time and energy. It is also a good medium to bring people together because all people regardless of race or creed enjoy good food which varies from…

a greater degree of self-sufficiency? And then there were the more philosophical questions, the ones I’ve been chewing on since I first started writing books. How, in our everyday lives, can we acquire a deeper understanding of the natural world and our species’ peculiar role in it? You can always go to the woods to confront such questions, but I discovered that even more interesting answers could be had simply by going to the kitchen. I would not, as I said, ever have expected it. Cooking has always been a part of my life, but more like the furniture than an object of scrutiny, much less a passion. I counted myself lucky to have a parent—my mother—who loved to cook and almost every night made us a delicious meal. By the time I had a place of my own, I could find my way around a kitchen well enough, the result of nothing more purposeful than all those hours…
