Why I Chose College

Growing up, it was instilled in me that college was a requirement. The vision has always been to graduate high school, then proceed to college, it was just a matter of where I wanted to go, what I wanted to study, and how to acquire the funds for it. However, as I got older college became a choice I had to make based on how I wanted my future to go. When I figured out I wanted to pursue a career in Environmental Engineering I knew college was the path to take. With that being said, going to college and pursuing my particular major is important to me because knowledge is key whether it's about my field of study or myself and I want to use it to help the world. Attending college is beneficial to me because it will allow me to explore the different ways through environmental engineering that I can help save the Earth allowing me to find the one I'm most passionate about to stick with for a career. I chose that major because back in fifth grade a fire in my heart was started. In school we had a unit over Earth and Space, in the unit we discussed resources and how much damage us humans actually cause to the Earth. It hurt my heart so much so I knew I had to do something to change it. As I got older and took more classes
Going off to college will force me to be on my own, therefore I’m making my own decisions which can determine who I become. I will also get exposed to people from different backgrounds than myself and through them I can learn more about the world and the Earth I want to help save. Along with that I can explore hobbies to find what piques my interest due to the many organizations college campuses have.
