My husband and I love going to parks in the evenings for walks; during the summer, we are able to attend free concerns during the week and some weekend in the park. Some of the reasons why we choose the park are because: one, we are able to exercise; two, we are able to spend some quality time together, as we rarely see each other due to our schedule. One year we decided to feature the African culture for our fundraising. We put together a fashion show, dance and skit; we also provided food to our guests. Throughout the event, we emphasized the importance of lending a hand to those in need. We had pictures of children in need throughout the hall; we also had ushers that were going around discussing the topic with our guests. I was very impressed by how generous and caring the guests were. Not only were we able to raise $5,000.00 for the cause, but we were able to recover the expenses of the event.
