How to Waste Money
How are you dealing with your money? Do you think you have your finances under control, or are you spending a little more than you should? Well, if would like to spend more of your money and you would like to empty your bank account in half of the time, then you should follow these steps; buy a classy auto, go shopping, don’t cook at home, and use credit cards more than usual.
The surest way to misuse your money is to purchase a brand new expensive car such as Escalade, Lexus or Mustang, instead of a used one or an economy car that gets good gas mileage. When you are buying a brand new car, ask the car dealer to change the tires right away and get the super-grip performance tires that come with sports cars and other high performance vehicles, but they can cost you twice than regular because they are made of soft rubber and they often don’t last as long. In addition, you can have leather seats in your car to make it more luxurious, get the oil change every two weeks, and put the navigation stereo system in your car. Whenever you go for oil change, get the tire rotations every time, and these are some unproblematic methods to waste money.
Shopping is another way to fritter your money away. It could be spent on groceries, clothes, books, jewelry or other household accessories. If you go shopping, it doesn’t matter if you need anything or not, you will find something to buy. For example, buy some extra food and throw it in the back of the fridge. Then a few weeks later, you can throw it in the garbage because it’s spoiled, and you can’t eat it. Another example of wasting money is buying costly brand name and designer clothes such as H&M and Zara and Coach shoes that you might not need, but do it for pleasure and fun. Instead of going to Target or Wal-Mart, shop at Macy’s, Nordstrom or any other big upscale department store. Moreover, rather than buying used books on eBay or Amazon, buy brand new ones from the campus book store. In these ways you can trash

There are two things need to be said in this essay and that is about the reflection by Trent Hamm of “My Year of No Shopping”, and facts about the story “from Life at Home in the Twenty-First Century” by Jeanne E. Arnold. So i’m going to explain a factual essay on both those things. Wasting money on products you don't even need is useless. Plus, the money being wasted will just be a downgrade to your money on groceries. Getting clothes is fine just don’t waste it on clothes that reach to more the 100 dollars.…

My four brothers and many of their friends are a great example of young adults who do not know how to manage their money. These boys are in their late teens, who know nothing about managing money. Growing up, they believed that being cool, popular, and having endless fun is all that mattered in life. They’re always thinking how to have fun now, but are never thinking about the future. For these young adults being cool means, speeding, drinking and driving, and always being center of attention. As they receive their weekly pay checks, they instantly waste it on stupid, pointless things, such as; beer, clubs, cigarettes, and speeding tickets. So as they play the role of being “cool”, they end up wasting all their money, just to keep that title. As they go out and drink, they then get in their cars and start to drive somewhere, but they always speed, because they think that they’re so cool. So, as they’re speeding, they often get stopped by a cop, arrested, and get a huge speeding ticket. These people end up wasting all their money on their problems; courts, tickets, and lawyers. And they never seem to learn their lesson. So as you can see, these young adults sure do not know how to manage their money. If they really knew how to manage it, they would be saving some money…

    Marcuse Critical Essay

Although I feel like I “need” them at that moment, it becomes more of a problem in the future when I look back at the amount of money I’ve spent on one particular item. For example, I would get a refund check from my Financial Aid every year and spend a vast amount of money on posters, shoes, clothes and other miscellaneous items, but now that my bank account is thinning out- did I really need those items? During the summer I would work almost 70 hours a week just to satisfy my habit of shopping; seems like I am just another person falling victim to consumerism. Marcuse’s argument on work and consumer related issues really made me think why I need to spend this money on these things that I really don’t need. The feeling of “”If I don’t buy this then I’m going to go crazy” really does take its…

Managing your spending, the money that goes out of your accounts each month, is a crucial first step in controlling your financial situation. If you're in debt or not meeting your financial goals you can either cut your spending, boost your income or do both to find the extra money you need to improve. I believe that cutting spending is the most important step you can take to improve your financial situation because if you cannot control your spending it doesn't matter how much your investments return, how high your income goes, or if you have the best insurance, you will still be living basically paycheck to paycheck each month or going into debt. Realistically, there is no level of income you can achieve that an out of control desire to buy cannot spend.…
