why go skiing
Why go Skiing?
I would like to describe why everyone should try skiing, at least just once.
There is nothing like the feeling of skiing down the piste, whether it is in the morning with low temperatures and maybe sunrise glowing on the snow-covered mountains, at midday, or in the late afternoon.
The feeling of gliding upon the perfectly groomed white snow and having the wind blowing in your face, is just terrific. Another great thing about skiing is the personification. You can ski completely as you want, you can adjust your skiing holiday according to your needs, and the opportunities are almost endless.
You can go to Sweden for a few days if you just like the nature and the mountains covered by woods, or you can go to Canada with your own guide and helicopter if you like the completely untouched deep snow.
In addition, the mountains and its silent environments makes you forget everything else and gives you a break from your everyday life. Skiing might help you find to yourself.
While having hours of fun you will also burn thousands of calories and work all your muscles at the same time, it is a win-win-situation.
Although you never have tried to ski before it is going to be fun, because unlike other sports, skiing is very easy to learn. After only a few hours of skiing it might not seems that fun, but after a day or two in a ski school, the only thing you want, is to try on and on again. One thing that may surprise beginners is the wide range of people who ski. Everyone from 80 year olds to small kindergarteners in even more different type of clothing and gear, are hurtling down the slopes. Therefore, a ski vacation can also be a vacation for the whole family.
For me, skiing is one of best things to do. The amount of experiences you get when you try skiing is enormously and endless. You can be at one with the beautiful winter landscape and nature, and still having the opportunity to go down in the valley for something to eat or drink with all friends.

This may also be a better place for less-aggressive skiers. There is a beginner's powder area and hundreds of acres of wide-open powder slopes for intermediates and other cruisers. You can take a high-speed quad to the adjacent Peaked Mountain and ski in thigh-deep, untracked snow. A problem you might encounter is, oddly enough, fog. Now and then the mountain gets socked in with gray moisture, forcing skiers to ski below the thick blanket. The Lost Groomer Chute, a run that takes full advantage of the weather moving west to east, will provide the most insatiable powder hound with enough dust.…

About 2,500 miles east lies the cold and rainy city of Canton, Ohio. The majority of my childhood was spent inside the house as Ohio was not ideal for outdoor adventure. Although, after turning 6, I was introduced to snow skiing . It became an enjoyable hobby of mine for years. Skiing opened my eyes to the beauty of nature and the serenity it provided. I loved the smell of fresh air and the exhilarating feeling of gliding down the mountain. It is a very peaceful sport and provides a silence away from everyday life. Coincidentally, I learned of ski club in middle school where I could ski with several other students that enjoyed this exercise as well. I joined the club and looked forward to the weekly Sunday trips. It showed the importance…

It is a center for vacationers who want to take advantage of the nice summer climate and the supplies of powdered snow in the winter. Some of the North American Cordillera includes the Colorado Rockies, which goes through the western part of the continent all the way from Alaska into northern Mexico. There are many skiing resorts and areas that you can go to in Colorado, such as Aspen, Beaver Creek, and Vail. A place you would definitely want to visit is the Mesa Verde. “Mesa Verde, Spanish for green table, offers a spectacular look into the lives of the Ancestral Pueblo people who made it their home for over 700 years, from AD 600 to 1300. Today the park protects nearly 5,000 known archeological sites, including 600 cliff dwellings. I can see the sun glistening off the snow covering the treetops as I glide down the mountain. Suddenly I feel a lot of snow sprayed on me as my dad speeds past in his usual perfect formation, as if he’s a slalom skier about to pass the finish line. He goes around a bend, following the curve of the trail, and skis out of sight. When I finally catch up to him I am shocked at what I see. My dad is getting up from a fall – he never falls – and both his skis and poles are scattered around the trail. In all his years of skiing, as far as I know, my dad has never been injured despite some careless falls. As I ski down to my dad I pick up his matching black skis and poles. I get closer to him and see a look in his eyes that worries me. I hide my concern and calmly ask, “Are you okay?”…

There is a first time for everything. Some first time experiences aren't so important while others we will never forget. One first time experience I will never forget is the first time I went skiing. I remember being lifted on the ski lift chair. The most memorable moment of this whole experience will be the first time I went speeding down the hill and thinking I am going to hit a tree and die!…
