Why Do Children Commit Crimes
Kids who committed crimes/murder have been released. Over four-hundred of them get let free because they are under the age 17. No matter how young they are they should be tried as adults.

A child who committed a violent crime would only be put in juvie. This would teach them nothing kids who would come out of juvie would think crimes are ok to do and keep making them. If the crimes goes to a certain circumstance. If they were to steal and skip school they should be put in juvie, just more serious crimes like first or second degree murder should be put in jail.

All in all, kids who one degree murder, manslaughter, rape. Should have no chance to get out of jail over 300 kids who have committed a crime and killed someone have came out and they still continued to make them, this shows that when kids only go to juvie they think that if they keep doing crimes nothing will happen to them. A young 11 year old was realized when he killed two people, he was only put in jail for only 5 years. He is still roaming the streets. This is not even close this child should have went to jail for life. What

Without effective intervention and help, these children suffer, struggle, and fall into despair and hopelessness. Some young teens cannot manage the emotional, social, and psychological challenges of adolescence and eventually engage in destructive and violent behavior. Sadly, many states have ignored the crisis and dysfunction that creates child delinquency and instead have subjected kids to further victimization and abuse in the adult criminal justice

Many people around the nation have different views on the subject of juvenile justice. Some believe that despite the children's age, they should still be tried as an adult if a serious crime is committed. On the other hand, some believe children should not be tried as adult even if they commit a rather serious crime. I firmly that these children should not be sentenced to life in prison despite the serious crime that they have committed and should have another shot at life when their brain is fully developed.…

Depending on the crime that a minor has committed, a jury or judge should choose to try the person as an adult. For example, Lionel Tate, who was twelve, beat a 6 year old girl to death while wrestling. Lionel Tate is a person that Marjie Lundstrom used in her article; “Kids Are Kids - Until They Commit Crimes”. That happened because television had influenced a young boy. That doesn't make him a murderer, but yet he…

If a child commits a serious crime like murder, robbery, or arson, should they go to jail? For some time now, supreme courts point out that some juveniles who commit crimes should not go to jail. Others would argue otherwise. Someone who views an act of crime as simply an act of crime would agree that a child who commits a crime would not be a child anymore. The Supreme Court defends the juveniles attempting to justify their actions as naïve like, and that sentencing them to a life sentence without parole is unconstitutional. I believe in the minority group that argues with Supreme Court justices on why they should be sentenced to prison for long periods of time.…

Sending young offenders to adult prisons means that we as a society do not care for them, and means we have given up on them. We are basically setting them up for failure in the adult prison, because they have no chance of getting out, because of their undeveloped mind constantly telling them that the jail life is necessary for survival. Instead of sending them to these prisons, we should send these young offenders to juvenile hall, where they could be treated with rehab, and a second chance at life for the mistake they’ve committed at such a young age. And if they show no sign of wanting to improve, and love their old habits, then, and only then should they go to adult prisons. But until then, they should not be tried as adults, and go to adult…

I feel, as do many others, that our court system has become much too harsh when it comes to punishing the youth. There is a difference when being tough on crime and giving kids punishments that do not fit the crime. More and more of today’s youth are being sent to adult prisons where they cannot be protected. In a juvenile prison, kids are given second chances. There they learn to right their ways and are sent back out in society where hopefully they will become responsible adults. In adult prisons however, its survival of the fittest. There is no protection for those kids and no one to guide them on the right path. Statistics show that kids sentenced to adult prisons are more likely to end up back behind bars within five years of being released or committing suicide.…

Punishing these juveniles isn’t the right way to handle this situation. We should be protecting these children, not taking out vengeance. By treating kids as adults you are throwing away their future, and the goals they had wished to accomplish. Juvenile offenders deserve a chance to rehabilitated, and experience life without being behind bars.…

People still debate whether juveniles should be tried as adults. There are many juveniles creating adult crimes and getting away with little sentences and use excuses like being too "young" or inherited genes. Some juveniles really mean to kill or hurt someone and that is not acceptable for that person to get a little sentence. In the article "On Punishment and Teen Killers" by Jennifer Jenkins, it talks about how juveniles deserve to be tried as adults for committing commensurate crimes which is a good decision.…

Kids who commit serious crimes should not go scot-free. If society doesn't recognize them as adults until the age of 18, why do kids suddenly become responsible as an adult when they commit a crime? Children have as much business in a prison as they do a bar. Yet, twenty-three states have no minimum age. Two, Kansas and Vermont, can try 10 year old kids as adults.…

Juvenile offenders sometimes commit crimes that are equal to or of higher quality than those of adults; however, punishing them as adults in adult prisons will do no justice; they are less competent to stand trial, adult prisons can harm them mentally, physically, and emotionally, and they more often than not choose the actions they do because of…

I don’t think there is one juvenile living that is ready to be in a prison environment, it’s not anything that you can train for and I am also concerned about if the juvenile will receive the proper medical and mental health services. But for a juvenile to be on death row is very disturbing. Juveniles are young and juveniles haven’t gotten a chance to explore and actually live their life so this is a sad scenario. I don’t think there is any crime even a homicide or armed robbery is worth putting a juvenile on death row. The judge should have some sympathy and issue out a split sentence before even considering death row for a juvenile. The famous quote “if you can’t do the time don’t do the crime” is very serious but I think the system should be lenient and have some sympathy for…

Juveniles are starting to get convicted of crimes worser than before .If a juvenile decides to act like an adult and follow someone’s footsteps that isn’t doing the right thing and commit a murder, they should be tried as adults. Every teen should lead their own path and not get pressured or make decisions on committing crimes those types of crimes. Convictions for violent crimes should be taken serious whether it’s a juvenile or an adult. If a juvenile is tried with murder they should get the most punishment, because whether they…
