Why Did Hitler Build-Up Of Power During World War II
Many events helped contribute to the Nazi build-up of power during World War II. The Nazis were soldiers of the former leader of Germany, Adolf Hitler. Hitler became the leader of Germany in 1933. In the First World War, Hitler was a German soldier. When Germany lost the war, Hitler was distraught. He believed that Jews and communists were the reason for Germany's defeat. He spread this idea to others and German soldiers, ultimately leading him to become Germany's leader. When Hitler came to power, he changed things for them, including their beliefs. Nazis were originally German workers from 1919-1921 until they became soldiers. Before Hitler, Nazis held racist, Nationalist, and antisemitic beliefs. When Hitler came to power, he still held that but made them more of a cleaner and more organized army. Hitler tried to make the democratic committee with a single leader who would have ultimate control. However, this ultimately got rejected by the German Parliament. He kept the Nazi racist view but also made them believe that German was the superior race and targeted more Jewish individuals. Hilter made the Nazis want to eliminate all disabled, homosexuals, Roma, Sinti, and other minorities. Hitler ultimately wanted all who were not Aryan (the German race) killed. The Nazis' first attack under Hitler was the Munich putsch. On November 8, 1923, Hitler and the Nazis tried to invade the Weimar Republic. The Nazis marched into a beer hall where Von Kahr, who was the State Commissioner of Bavaria, was making a speech. Hitler entered, firing off his pistol into the ceiling and then holding Kahr at gunpoint. Surrounded by Nazis, Hitler addressed the crowd and then ordered von Lossow, von Seisser, and von Kahr into another room. Hitler held them at gunpoint again and made them agree to back his putsch. The next day Hitler was stopped by Bavarian police, killing 14 Nazis. Hitler later got sentenced to 5 years in jail
