Why Did America Get Into World War 1

After the construction of this great nation of ours, America was a neutral and secluded place protected by mighty oceans on all sides. We traded with people we could trust, accepted people and did not get into wars that did not involve us. Even though we came from Europe, why get into the fights that they frequently go into? On June 28, 1914, the Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary was killed, forcing countries to pick a side. The assassination of Franz and the forcing of choosing a side would ignite one of the largest and deadliest wars in history. Although the world was at war, America tried to remain neutral and stay out of it. What is the point of getting into a war that does not involve them? Even if they were forced to pick a side, they would have a hard time because we are a nation of immigrants. As France and Germany were fighting it out, America thought it would be fine to continue to trade with all sides like they did before. Because a neutral country cannot impose an embargo.
