Why America Is Important To Me
America to me is Hope. Hope is what get us out of bed in the morning. We may have hard days but hope gets us through the day. Hope, is what pushes the caterpillar out of the cocoon to create something more beautiful. ‘’Hope is a horizon we head for leaving nothing but fear, And though we may never reach our goals it is hope that is going to save us from who we once were.’’

America to me is Perseverance. Perseverance is failing 19 times and succeeding the 20th. No matter what happens to our country we always have to push through. Whether it was during World Wars, The Great Depression or the September 11th attacks, you have to keep going. I realized that when you work together anything is possible. Where would we be if we would've given up? Nowhere.

“Freedom is never given it is won,It is better than to fight for something than live for nothing.” I always wonder that if you stand for nothing what do you fall for? For some people many have died so that our country can live forever. That to me is freedom.

I believe in an America where we don’t have to be afraid of anything because Hope never dies.
Where we may have fallen, we may have had hard days. But never give up, have perseverance.Learn to follow your heart, don’t let others opinions drown your own, and most importantly don’t live another's person's life. My dad once told me that a plane starts to rust, malfunction, and wear. Which never happens in the air. I realized, well yeah because a plane is meant to fly. And each person is meant to fly as well. We have the freedom to make our own choices so choose yours now.
This is the America I believe in. I am proud to be an

According to US President Barack Obama “In the unlikely story that is America, there has never been anything false about hope.” This mind boggling quote describes the fact that in America's darkest time we still have some hope, and with that hope we move forward. However, it is unfortunate that others around the globe do not feel the same way about hope for their home. The reason being is that as humans we are alike, but due to other factors we are different. We are different in the way men and women play a role in society, the way we value tradition, and the way we factor religion and ideologies. The texts Anthem, Persepolis, and The Lottery show the theme of Ourselves and Others by having different perspectives on topics we as Americans have…

How can some people live in endless misery and not have any hope for the future and the good things to come? In America, Claud McKay describes America as a woman who is treacherous and someone who continually puts him down. America does many terrible things to the narrator, but he still loves her and the goodness she can bring. America is his home no matter what she does. By showing how the narrator perseveres through all the awful things that America throws at him, I can infer that the message the narrator is trying to put out is that if we fight for the good things in life, we can achieve anything. America is personified as someone who treats the narrator as if he is nothing, expendable, and only worth the punishment she gives him. She makes everything harder for the narrator and constantly gives him reasons to give up, but he still fights on and keeps hoping to receive the reward of the American Dream. If no one ever looked on the bright side of things and persevered through the bad, no one would ever achieve the American Dream. Because the narrator is still persistent, and keeps hoping, he will soon be rewarded with the beautiful things about America and not…

“Give me liberty, or give me death!” Patrick Henry’s famous words still remain in history to influence our country, but many Americans generally neglect this phrase. We often take our freedom for granted without understanding how our Founding Fathers fought for our liberty from Britain. As Americans, we should respect our country and the freedom and rights given to us. We shouldn’t take this for granted because so many people around the world are unfortunate to not have this gift that most of us were born with or given.…

“My great chance to to learn, to be a civilized being, to become an American by living with them.” Chunk 2 America and I. An American learns and works hard for what they believe in. “I saw America-a big idea, a world still in the making.” Chunk 6, America and I. Americans are working hard to grow and make America what they want it to be. “Since the beginning of our American history we have been engaged in change, in a perpetual, peaceful revolution, a revolution which goes on steadily, quietly, adjusting itself to changing conditions without the concentration camp or the quicklime in the ditch.” The Four Freedoms. For America to grow we have to work hard to fight for equality and a perfect place for everyone to be considered the same. We can’t accomplish that by sitting back and not take action. Our hard work is what makes America become America. “The world order which we seek is the cooperation of free countries, working together in a friendly, civilized society.” Bill of…

America means a lot of things to me, like freedom, safe, brave, equal, and responsibility. The reason I picked these things is because I think they are all very important to this country. The reason why I picked freedom is because in America, you have the right to do and say whatever you want. For example, the phrase freedom of speech, which means that someone’s right to say something is protected within certain limits. What that means is that someone can say whatever they want, but after you say it, there could be consequences, like someone getting hurt if you yelled “fire” in a place that has a lot of people or if you walked into an airport and yelled “bomb.” You have the right to say that, but if you do, there will be consequences like going to jail or something like that. There is also something called freedom of expression, which means people can behave like they want to and wear what they want to.…
