Who Is Abigail Williams Guilty In The Crucible

The accusation of more than 200 people was mainly caused by a young girl. Abigail Williams was responsible for the witchcraft hysteria in Salem, Massachusetts, 1962. She would be responsible for the imprisonment and execution of innocent people. She did various things that were wrong and affected the lives of so many people. She not only lied on so many persons but she also threatened people to go along with her play. To begin with in the play “ The Crucible ” it states that Abigail Williams lied to the towns peoples and said Tituba was the one who was a witch. She also stated “ she comes to me at night in my bedroom and disturbs me” , which she knew she was lying. She would continuously lie on and to other people, just so she wouldn’t get in trouble. Abigail was such a good liar she convinced most of the town to believe that what she was saying is true. She
She would play the role of the leader of all the young girls and if one of them did something she didn’t like they would all beat that one girl up. Abigail would do as she please and never get caught because her friend would back her up. For example , it’s like a group of friends where there’s a leader and they all try to please them so they would become the leaders favorite or not get kicked out of the group. The play states that Abigail says” you will not speak of this or anything that happened or I will hurt you”. Although Abigail is guilty for starting everything she’s still a young girl and had terrible role models. Then she had seen her parents get killed and he only cared about his image in the people’s eye’s . However , she didn’t need to follow her uncle’s footsteps and could have prevented their family’s reputation from going bad. To dispute she could also have said the truth and be a mature 16 year old.
