Who Am I?
Has anyone ever been on a plane? Or traveled to a different country? My name is Andira Battles. I’m 20 years old, born on January 3rd 1993 in The Bahamas. Whenever Bahamians need to travel to a different island or come to the States; since 70% of the island is water, we mostly travel via plane or boat. I moved to the United States with my family 13 years ago.
What are my career goals? For the past few years I’ve wanted to become a massage therapist. Why? The simple answer is because I love it and it works - because it moves me. When you get a good massage you feel like a changed person, right? I get off the table and float on a cloud for hours. I wanted to make people feel that way. I still have dreams on becoming a massage therapist, but I found a career that also change people and that is being an English teacher.
My strength would be my success with the English subject throughout my school years. Also, my love for reading and dissecting works of literature. I believe that in every work environment you need to process every step and be detailed in your work. Education is extremely important for endless reasons and English has always been one of strong points and passions. Being an educator is a professional career. You have to think, communicate, dress, and act professionally. So I searched online for an example of professional code of ethics for educators, and here’s what I found:
PRINCIPLE I: Ethical Conduct toward Students
1. The professional educator deals considerately and justly with each student, and seeks to resolve problems, including discipline, according to law and school policy.

2. The professional educator does not intentionally expose the student to disparagement.

3. The professional educator does not reveal confidential information concerning students, unless required by law.

4. The professional educator makes a constructive effort to protect the student from conditions detrimental to learning, health, or safety. http://www.aaeteachers.org/index.php/about-us/aae-code-of-ethics The four ethics I chose that relate to my future career goals of being an early childhood or elementary educator. These ethics are things I believe in, and will work by as I go into student teaching.
Do Not Assume.
Be Tolerant and Understanding of Others.
Hold High Standards.
Be professional. * “Do not assume,” because in everyday life, I often hear a lot of people talking about someone negatively. Sometimes they accuse that person of something that is false. This is why I do not assume things about anyone. I do not want to prejudge someone before I get to know them. I want to get to know them for who they are and not for what someone else told me. * “To be Tolerant and Understanding of Others.” As a teacher, I’m going to have students that come from all walks of life; meaning every student will come from a different family, and financial situation. Also, I will encounter students that will have disabilities that may affect their learning in some way. I need to accommodate those students and understand their situation. I want to create a caring classroom environment, which means I will welcome my students and their families, and get to know them, regardless of their background. * “Hold high standards.” I choose to hold high standards because some people I meet may have physical and/or mental disabilities. They may doubt their abilities, but one of my greatest strengths is to help people succeed. As a teacher, I will let my students know I set high expectations because I know they can meet them. * “Be professional.” To be a teacher, I need to act, dress, communicate, and teach professionally on a daily basis. I will have a lot of young children in my class that will watch me every day. Some of my students may look up to me as a role model, so I will make sure I’m being a good role model both inside and outside of the classroom.
Teaching is a gift. It gives me the opportunity to make a positive impact on people, young people especially. You never forget the teachers in your life that made a difference and impacted you in a great way. I want to be that for a student one day.
I hope this gives you a better understanding of my beliefs, and what guides my behaviors as a future educator. Thank you

    who am i

Who am I? Well for starters, I am a young adult and was born and lived in Cambodia for 5 years and moved to a multi-cultural place which is here in Australia. When you take a look a look at me, the first thing you may notice is my biological genes; I have long naturally straight hair, my skin colour is not pale nor is it naturally dark but a very light tan almost a light beige colour. My skin alone already is different from others however similar to the same ethnic group, which is categorised as Asian, I am Asian. The features of my face, is very obvious to identify my ethnic background, my eyes and my nose are way different from a person who is perhaps European. People don’t look alike exactly perfectly but if you take one look at me it is clear what category I would fit in. If you take a look at me and judge from the moment you see me, most people would say (and be most likely be stereotypical) that Asians are probably really smart or enjoys watching anime or is super good at drawing or is super good at maths but half of that is wrong about me, I may be Asian but I also have other interest and I am probably not so good at maths but I may appear to be because I am Asian? What I’m trying to say is that basically no matter what skin colour you are or what religion you come from, people are all different and there is no one like yourself because you are yourself.…
