When A Dog Is Abandoned Two Times At A Shelter Summary
Wealthy Heiress Dog

Headline:

When a Dog Is Abandoned Two Times at a Shelter, One Wealthy Woman Puts the Dog on a Private Jet to Save Her.

Summary:

After being put in a shelter, one dog managed to escape and walk 30 miles back to her original home. Unfortunately, Lady the labrador was put back into the shelter again. The story could have ended terribly, but the poor dog caught the eye of a wealthy woman.

Introduction:

Lady was an old labrador who had lived with her owners for nearly nine years. Her Texan owners had purchased her as a puppy and loved her dearly for all of that time. For the most part, Lady had lived a lucky, happy life.

Unfortunately, Lady's good fortune was quickly starting to change. As she grew older, the aging dog needed more veterinarian care. The bills were quickly starting to add up. At home, caring for the aging dog was becoming a constant burden. While her owners loved Lady, they could no longer care for her. They did not have the money or time to give her the treatment that she needed. Finally, they tearfully left her at the closest shelter.

An aging dog is difficult to adopt, and many shelters have to put them down. Lady was not ready to go down without a fight. This stubborn dog was determined that she would return to her old life.

On one particular day, the shelter's workers were not paying attention to Lady. She was normally a well-mannered, slow dog, so they did not think that she would ever misbehave. When Lady saw that no one was paying attention, she made a dash for the gate of the shelter. To everyone's amazement, she ran off and kept running. In just a couple of days, she managed to run the entire 30 miles back to her original owners.

Isabelle could have sworn that the man was drooling over her. She chuckled to herself, knowing that she had picked the perfect weakling to complete her plan. All of the sudden she stopped walking, for she felt something wet rolling down her leg. Isabelle slowly turned around to face whoever had the nerve to do this to her. Just as Isabelle had suspected, an innocent puppy had come over and licked her leg. Isabelle looked down at it, stared, and then screamed! “Whos is this?” Isabelle was stewing! Her hands were shaking all the way down to the tips of her black, matte, flawless fingernails. She bent down picked up the puppy, and yelled once more. “Whoever this beast belongs to please claim it now, or youĺl never see it again!” By now, Isabelle knew that she had everyone's attention, yet still, nobody said a word. For the last time, Isabelle shouted to the crowd as they stared at her in horror. “Fine then, say goodbye to the mangy mutt!” Everybody thought that Isabelle was going to kill the puppy, but to their surprise, she simply walked away with it. Nobody knew what she planned to do with it, but nobody had the nerve say anything. For the first time in a century, the streets of New York were completely silent, that was, until the owner of the puppy walked into the streets saying “Hey, has anyone seen my…

As well as applying sarcastic charm and hyperbolic language. This is demonstrated when the writer says “I was with her at the end. Thing is, I can`t remember a world without her”. This point consists of exaggerated text to emphasize the point being made that the person could not live without their dog which helps to further involve the reader. The article includes more humour as it progresses, however, as the piece is intended for owners who`s pets had died the writer includes many desensitizing anecdotes to gain the trust of the…

“To Flush, My Dog” written by Elizabeth Barrett Browning and the RSPCA leaflet “ Just $3 a month will help rescue more animals like Trio” are two documents exploring the same topic - treatment of dogs. Both documents depict how the owners treat their dogs differently showing the love and bond between dogs and humans. In “To Flush, My Dog”, Elizabeth appraises her dog in a very elaborated manner, while RSPCA documents look at animals from another perspective. Though the theme is the same, the aim of writing is very different. Elizabeth’s love for her dog is contrasted with the maltreatment by some owners whose dogs are subsequently rescued by RSPCA. Similarities, differences and impacts of such treatments will be discussed.…

As I walk in through the swinging glass door of my grandparents house, the instant smell of fresh white baked bread hits me. The sweet dough crisped to golden-brown is now in sight. I see it sitting there, on the smooth kitchen table to the left of where I just entered. I know that as soon as I say hello a piece of it will be offered to me. As I continue straight into the open living room I notice my gray-haired grandpa sitting comfortably in his cushioned lazy boy rocker. With every slow rock he makes there is a slight creak that overpowers the sound of the Twins game on their T.V. On the crest of the same rocker lies his favorite dog, Lucy. Her white and black, furry belly expands and compresses at the same rate of the slow rock. My grandma,…

"The average dog is a nicer person than the average person." This was said by Andy Rooney. Andy Rooney is a very, very wise man. He adopted a dog from an humane society once, just like I did. The animal shelter I got my dog from was called Humane Society Of West Michigan. The Humane Society Of West Michigan was very neat and orderly. It smelled like sanitizer and bleach mixed together. Past the main lobby there was a wide hallway you go through to get to the crowded room where they keep all the dogs. Inside this spacious room were kennels that had between 2 and 4 dogs in them. A couple of them only had 1 lonely dogs in them. This made me feel happy and sad being…

    An Unusual Pet

AN UNUSUAL PET Guinness was probably the most gorgeous pup you had ever seen. When he first came to stay with Kathy and James he was only six weeks old and they had chosen him specially from a litter of pups in a nearby pet shop. They brought Guinness home in a little basket and placed him in his new room which had been carefully prepared for the pup. He had toys, a soft cuddly bed and a litter tray. He had fun running around in the large room with the new vinyl floor and no furniture to get in his way. Plenty of space to grow up in ..... or so his new owners thought! The first few weeks were such fun, both for Kathy and James and the little pup. His coat was like silver velvet and his eyes gradually turned from bright blue to a delicious mauve colour. He not only looked gorgeous, but he felt so smooth and silky to touch. He squealed with delight and rolled over onto his tummy whenever Kathy made to stroke him When they eventually took him out for walks, people they didn't know would come over to speak, but if truth be told, they couldn't resist stroking Guinness and they wanted to know all about him. He was a very unusual breed, a Weirmerand, and most people had never seen a dog quite like him before.…
