What Is The Platypus Family
There is no other family member of the platypus family, it is all by itself. The name of the family is called Ornithorhynchidae. The only other member of the family is the Obdurodon, which is an extinct ancestor of the platypus. The obdurodon is sometimes called the Riversleigh Platypus due to where the fossil was found, Riversleigh. The obdurodon was essentially a bigger platypus that was about 25% bigger than the average modern platypus.
