What Is The Difference Between Alaska And The Pacific Ocean
Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:18-19

You are looking at the "Gulf of Alaska" and the "Pacific Ocean" where they come together but do not mix. Actually, there is not any mixing of these two oceans, but there is a mixing of the "glacial melt fresh water"(Light blue color) with the "saline sea waters" (Dark blue color). However, due to density contrast, they don't mix... at least not immediately!

It has been stated that this stange and natural phenomenon is caused by and where heavy, sediment-laden water from the Alaskan glacial valleys and rivers pour into the open ocean. There is a gulf between the two kinds of water which run into each other.

And, so it should be with each of us who are privileged to enter another new year, we should not "hang onto our past mistakes, hurts or trials," instead we should use the past as a reminder of how to live a more positive and productive lifestyle. Lets allow the old year to fade away, keeping only that which informs and reveals the life lessons that help us to grow in our relationships with one another and especially our relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

God tells us in Isaiah 43, not to remember the past events and pay no attention to the things of old. Instead, prepare yourselves and allow the Lord to do something new in each of us. God desires that we allow His Spirit to do something new in our hearts and

Walter Kaiser warns against using the New Testament to reinterpret passages of the Old Testament while discounting the meaning of the original author. Kaiser states that the meaning established by the original author is important and to ignore it “is to make nonsense out of the revelation…” He does acknowledge, however, that while the author may not have a sense of writing prophetically, the Holy Spirit promulgates the underlying theme of the “Promise”. This approach provides a basic framework with which this passage may be viewed.…

The second driver of productivity in the Bering Sea is seasonal sea ice that, in part, triggers the spring phytoplankton bloom. Seasonal melting of sea ice causes an influx of lower salinity water into the middle and other shelf areas, causing stratification and hydrographic effects which influence productivity.[6] In addition to the hydrographic and productivity influence of melting sea ice, the ice itself also provides an attachment substrate for the growth of algae as well as interstitial ice algae.…

“There is nothing new under the sun.” People often talk about how Biblical values are diminishing in the everyday life of modern times. What I think they miss is that, in fact, every single Biblical value is indeed diminishing... but that’s no news. We live in a fallen world and are fallen people. Things have always been so and will never get better until Christ comes back and restores everything. This world is full of murder, rape, homosexuality, abortion, premarital sex, drug and alcohol abuse, and suicide, just to name the big ones. But there have always been such things. They just stayed better hidden back in the day. These things seem so much more prevalent now, however, because of how fast communication is and all the technology we have at our…

The northern part of Alaska contains a harsh environment, which is defined by its barren landscape with scarce amount of resources available. The Brooks Range is a large mountain range that runs east to west, which splits the northern coast from the interior. On one side of the mountain range lies a flat tundra that is relatively treeless, while the other side lies the forested lands of the central Alaskan plateau. Much of the northern region has many low lakes and is covered in marsh lands. The North Alaskan tundra is usually referred to as a desert “The rain and snowfall in the region averages less than ten inches per year.” (Chance 1996: 9). The area has a perennially frozen topsoil and a permanently frozen subsoil, which hinders drainage…

“For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope” (Rom. 15:4). This passage extols the virtues of the Old Testament Scriptures. There are several people today who would argue that the Old Testament has no practical value for modern man. The apostle Paul indirectly refutes this idea by stating that they exist to give us patience, comfort, and hope. The Old Testament is bursts forth with stories and examples that teach mankind how to behave himself and what God expects of His creation. One particular narrative is useful in this regard: the life of David.…

We are so attached to material things that when Jesus says to leave EVERYTHING and follow him, most of us can’t help but cling on to our securities and familiar way of life. There was an example I heard once of something similar to this. “ You are a rocket, and you take off and break through the atmosphere. It is now time for the actual spaceship (you) to detach itself from what launched you there. For some reason you can’t let it go… it’s too important to you. Without it you couldn’t have gotten this high up. Now your somewhere unknown and you don’t want to let go! You realize that if you don’t let go soon all the calculations will be messed up and you will delay your orbit (which is God’s mission for you to follow)”. We need to let go just as Jesus commanded. This is an example of how things can really prevent you or distract you from following Jesus. Clinging to the past is dangerous. It scares people to drastically change their life style so they want to stay near to what they know.…
