The Big Bad Wolf Spider I am terrified by spiders. If you were to touch their skin you would feel a tingling sensation. Their rough body create an armor for survival. They’re just a menace to society. Having eight eyes stare me down makes me churn, while they have eight legs to chase me through the house. All closets in my house are personally forbidden for me to go in; afterall, spiders stealth is deadlier than a stealth bomber over Iraq. Not being able to see the varmints creates a constant fear of my surroundings.
Spiders are the scariest bugs in the world. Sometimes it's hard to believe something so tiny can be so scary, but that doesn't change how I feel about them. No matter what I will always find spiders to be scary. I have heard that people shouldn't be afraid of them because they're smaller than us, but well so are hand grenades and I'm still afraid of them. Spiders always sneak up on people and scare them like

Their substantial body mass is impressive, which makes their body their best weapon. Some might say I have arachnophobia, but personally it’s just pure hatred towards the species of spiders. The wolf spider (one of the largest of its kind) is an absolute nail biter. Their substantial body mass is impressive. Every night our front door gets mauled by cobwebs from the spider’s spinnerets. It was my day to “take out the trash.” As I got home my body was nervous; even shaking in fear. Then one jumps and before my eye catches the motion the spider is clinging to my arm. Its hairy appendages grasp and I scream as its bite penetrates my skin. As their hideous bodies crawl across the floor I can hear the dry sound of their individual footsteps come together in a repulsive

Fear has a unique way of taking over our entire body, well at least it does for 20 year old Mason Lee Childress. Since the begging of our relationship he has had no problem showing how terrified he is of spiders. Regardless of their size, they could be no bigger than a bottle cap, and he’d still run the other way when coming across one. I’ve asked him how long he's had this fear towards spiders, and he began to explain how he wasn't always afraid of them until he was around 6 or 7 and blames his sibling for it.…

“Various friends have told [Grice] that the widow’s bite is always fatal to humans-in fact, it almost never is.” Grice discusses several misconceptions of black widows that initiate fear, causing them to hold a power over society. He uses the following tones: awe (of the widow), fear, and ignorance (of many who fear but do not understand the black widow) to show there is no need to fear the unknown aspects presented throughout life. In parallel to this realization, there are greater evils in the world that cannot be explained, yet are highly feared. Grice urges society to not be easily manipulated, but for individuals to try and understand their reason for being afraid. In “Caught in the Widow’s Web,” Grice uses the black widow to address the question of why there is evil in the world, provoking the reader to ponder how manipulation can cause fear of the unexplained.…
