What Is Crochetta?
One of my various extracurricular activities/ work experiences is my business, Crochetta. My business has been a form of work for me since March 2014. Crochetta originated as a long time hobby since grade 4; but as time progressed, my skills in crocheting advanced and many people began to inquire of my unique and handmade products. This diminutive source of income was accommodative in maintaining myself and my family while my father was absent. During this period, I matured and grew more dependent on my business and less reliant on my mother for providing my needs.

His response was "show me a business plan, and we'll talk." I had no idea how to write a business plan! When I asked my dad how I was to do it, his response was classic "You'll figure it out." This response has become a second guiding motto in my life. I did figure it out, the business plan was approved, and the business grew. At its peak, it had 3 vehicles in the fleet and expanded its service to cover anything from custom Christmas lights to yard renovations, all at the age…

In 5th grade, I started my own little business. I would go to school and sell Mardi Gras beads I got from my family. I sold the beads for twenty-five cents to my peers and teachers and fifty cents to strangers. I only sold for a week, but that week I would go home with between five to seven dollars each day. I did not have a reason for wanting to sell the beads, in particular, I just wanted to make money and save all the money I earned. That same "want" has driven me throughout my life. In middle school, my dad and uncle started a business running a food truck. Because I was too young and was in school, I only worked with them during the summer. There I learned how to handle money, provide great customer service, and how to market and advertise.…
