What Does It Mean To Be Responsible Essay
I believe in being responsible as the true definition of being responsible is having an obligation to something or someone. In other words, if a parent asks me to babysit their child, then I become the one accountable for the child for everything the child does in the time limit I have them.

Responsibility becomes a huge characteristic in one’s life only because the older you get, the more you become accountable for. When you’re a kid, you’re up for keeping your room picked up and brushing your teeth two times every single day. When you’re a teenager, you’re responsible for keeping up good grades in school and being safe on the roads when your first get your driver’s license. Being an adult means being at the top of the responsibility spectrum,

I am responsible for keeping my grades up, for keeping gas in my tank, keeping up with my debit card at all times, and ensuring that I am not doing anything that I shouldn’t be doing. I am not an adult, I am a child. To be an adult you have to be fiscally responsible, and mature. I am not fiscally responsible because even though I have a small job where I make spending money, I still rely on my parents for all of my needs. I do not fully understand what it means to really save money because the money I make I just spend on wants, not needs. I have yet to do any of these things. Also as a 17 about to be 18 year old boy I am still not fully mature, I still act like a child quite often. An example of this immaturity is I still expect Christmas and birthday presents, I still expect my parents to pay for me when I am with them, and finally I still sometimes act like a little kid when I do not get what I want.…

    Becoming an Adult

People never seem to quite understand the meaning of being an “adult”. I myself am not very sure of the full meaning of it. It has always seemed to me that age is irrelevant. You can be 12 and understand things better than a 30-year-old or you can be 40, have two PhD’s and still wonder if pigeons are migratory birds. Many people my age think that getting out of their parents’ house is an act of maturity but how does changing your situation prove that you are an “adult”? If they run away from home it is more likely to lose themselves trying to cope alone and underprepared with the difficulties in life. To become an adult you must achieve a separate identity. Still everyone perceives the world and every thought in it through their own consciousness.…

I reckon no one will; I’ll rather take full ownership in my actions good or bad and be responsible for my own actions.…

Some people my age seem to want to stay away from the word “responsibilities”. The way I look at it, is the more responsibilities the greater the accomplishments. Every decision one makes in life comes with some sort of responsibility. It is up to that person to decide how they react to it and what actions they decide to take. Being a police officer comes with great responsibilities, something I’ve thought long and hard about. I wouldn’t take on something I know I couldn’t handle. Like I’ve said, this is my dream.…
