Effects of Communicating with Electronic Devices Technology has been around for a long, long time. Humans have advanced from using papers, letters specifically, as a form of communication to using cellular devices such as phones.
This helped humans to communicate with each other in their everyday lives. Two authors that have stated their thoughts regarding on telecommunications are David Crystal in his article,
"Texting: Why All the Fuss?" and Alison Stein Wellner in her article, "Lost in Translation."
With some research, one can agree with both of Crystal's and Wellner's thoughts that communicating using an electronic device (phone texting, emailing) will/can have a(n) negative effect on people. Even though communicating with others using electronic devices will/can have a(n) negative effect on people, it can also have its advantages. Long distance communication has been a problem for a long time. This is where phones are beneficial. People would be able to text message or email one another even though they are far from each other. In addition, with text messaging, people can communicate with multiple people at one time. Furthermore, they can be on a group message which allows them to send a text message and multiple people would be able to see it. Another example is that people can message someone anywhere. Text messaging also records all the conversations with important information such as directions or important dates.
Clearly, Even though communicating with others using electronic devices will/can have a(n) negative effect on people, it can also have its advantages. Even though communicating using electronic devices can have its advantages, the disadvantages outweighs it. Using mobile phones as a form of communication have had negative effects on people.
