Given this scenario, how have Linda and Larry handled the conflict thus far? What should they do now?
If Linda and Larry have already asked Dale and Donna about limiting the noise personally then they should tell the apartment manager. In alerting management they can ask what course of action will be taken along with an estimated time frame. If nothing has changed then Linda and Larry can use the last resort in calling the police. Linda and Larry (if they are dealing with immature individuals) should probably expect some type of retaliation from these noisy neighbors. During this entire process I would recommend Larry and Linda keeping a written record of times, dates, and a short description of when they made contacts with the neighbors, apartment complex and even the police. If something like retaliation was to occur, they could hopefully present a good case as to why Dale and Donna would retaliate.

On the other hand Linda and Larry could have called the apartment manager directly to have them handle the situation or even called the police. This would keep Linda and Larry from being retaliated against and they might even have a better response with individuals who are not living under those types of conditions.

I believe they should take the "rights-based" approached because they do have a couple more options to exhaust which would be to contact the landlord as I previously stated or call the police. In first contacting the landlord, L&L could also contact other apartment residents to report D&D as well to ensure the apartment management would resolve the issue of these parties. If other neighbors complain then L&L will not look like the trouble-makers.

The downside to calling the police would be the situation may not get resolved and the situation could escalate. In using the police, the situation could become worse in which retaliation can occur by D&DI would also agree with Jorge that the

The biggest problem with solving crime is police doesn’t respond to break in unless somebody is hurt or dead. Due to the high crime death rate due to gun violence police is to respond only to that. You Can call 911 all you want , but there will not be any respond by the law coming were you are.(Charles Richardson's) informative column on (Macon and Bibb County crime statistics) points out that while aggravated assaults have declined in the city and county, residential burglaries are up 6% over last year. These burglaries are associated with drugs and violence. The reality is that police cannot be everywhere all the time to protect our homes. Roadblocks and visible police presence may deter crime briefly, but unless we turn society into a police state even those measures will not suffice. Citizens must take some responsibility for their own safety. The truth is the police, despite their motto “to protect and serve,” cannot be everywhere. Let's remember that courts have ruled the police do not have a legal obligation to protect individuals; the police owe a duty to protect the community at large (Bowers v. DeVito; 1982) but not individual persons, homes, or businesses. www.haciendapub.com…

First off, our management is very kind. They know the tenants by name . Even from the day we first picked up our house keys from the office, the people inside welcomed us by name, which was very reassuring to us. Also, whenever we pass by one of the managers, they always greet us. Though, most importantly to me, the management always address our complaints expediently. For example, when my wife and I first visited our apartment before we moved in, we had to complete a pre-occupancy checklist. While there were not many discrepancies, the few that we did note were fixed before we even started moving into our new home. Even since then, all of the problems that have arisen in our apartment such as; burnt-out light bulbs, faulty appliances, broken hot water heaters, and so on; were addressed immediately. Finally, at our apartment complex, every tenant has assigned parking spots only for our vehicles. On multiple occasions, I would find other peoples’ cars parked in my spot. All I needed to do was inform the management of someone in my spot, and the problem was taken care of right…

A solution would be to fix how the landscaping is done because the landscaping creates several problems with dark spots especially near Williams where all the landscaping is placed in the center creating more dark spots. Another possible solution could be to work out a way to light the dark spots that there are around the building by adding more light so that anyone can see if someone is there and what they are doing. Another solution would be to have someone stay in the front of South and monitor everyone who comes in to make sure that they are supposed to be in that resident hall. A final solution would be to have the police get out of the car and patrol the areas instead of just driving around in their car, because when they are driving around they may miss something because there are so many dark spots anything is unnoticeable at many areas around…

In the case of "The Reluctant Security Guard", I do believe that the security guard took the correct action regarding putting drunk drivers out of the mall parking areas onto the highway. I would have, in this situation, acted in a similar manner as he. By this I mean I would have contacted my superiors and spoke of alternatives other than putting intoxicated drivers on the highway that may cause harm to others as a result. Taking this into consideration, drinking, and driving are unlawful and the security guard had sworn to protect and obey all lawful orders under the supervision of the police in the said city.…

In the past few years, Zappos has become a company to fear for competitors not only for it’s customer satisfaction but also employee gratification. Unlike any other company, Zappos prides itself on their unordinary training process. Anytime during that 5 week training course an employee can decide that the company is not a good fit and is offered $2,000 for their decision. This reward of $2000 is already enough motivation, at least for me if not everyone, to apply in the first place. Motivate is the drive of one behavior or decisions to achieve one’s success. Zappos has many different ways to motivate their current employee’s and forward perspective applicants. They provide an on-site life coach who doubles as a chiropractor. They make caring for their employees and customers a number one priority and they ensure that the company remains transparent to all its benefactors. Along with these social benefits, there are also basic benefits for working at Zappos like full health-care coverage and a well-structured workweek. I feel that all of the offered benefits that the company provides will lead to even more success for the company. Zappos has a greatly respected loyalty with its employees.…
