Climate is a term used to summarise the long term atmospheric elements that cause the short term weather patterns received in a place (“Climate” Britannica 2015). Climate change is the alterations the climate goes through due to a number of factors. These factors can be described as natural or anthropogenic (“Climate Change” Britannica 2015). Natural drivers of climate change are as a result of natural processes such as changes in the solar activity, volcanic activity or the Earth’s orbit. Anthropogenic factors affecting climate change refers to the impact that human activity has on climate change, particularly do to the release of greenhouse gasses and clearing of land leading to less CO2 being absorbed plants such as trees (Ruddiman…

Climate change is a confusing term used by scientists to describe weather patterns. It refers to weather patterns that happen anywhere from ten to millions of years. Global warming is another term people use to describe changes in weather patterns. Many causes of weather patterns are from natural occurring forces such as ocean temperature, atmosphere conditions, plate tectonics, and volcanic eruptions. Human influences also contributed to climate change.…

The Shawshank redemption is based on a novella by Steven King and it is one of the most underrated movies of all time. I believe it should have won an Oscar. The protagonist, Andy Dufresne was convicted of first degree murder for killing both his wife and her lover after he supposedly caught them in the act. Andy was sent to the Shawshank prison to serve his life sentence charge. Even in prison, he maintained that he was innocent of the crime.…

    2. Concept: Key factors that influence an area’s climate are incoming solar energy, the earth’s rotation, global patterns of air and water movement, gases in the atmosphere, and the earth’s surface features. It is important to understand the difference between weather and climate. Weather is a set of physical conditions of the lower atmosphere, including temperature, precipitation, humidity, wind speed, cloud cover, and other factors, in a given area over a period of hours or days. Weather differs from climate, which is the general pattern of atmospheric conditions in a given area over periods ranging from at least three decades to thousands of years. In other words, climate is the sum of weather conditions in a given area, averaged…

Today, the world is experiencing anthropogenic global climate change. This means that there is a global climate change that is being caused by humans, which is all of us. Many people are in denial that global climate change, or commonly known as global warming, is really occurring. But, global warming really is happening and there is scientific proof. In the TED talk, James Balog explains how the arctic icebergs are the “canary in the global coalmine.” The ice is deflating and receding at a very rapid rate which is higher than it ever has. Sea level is set to continue to rise at a faster rate than over the past 40 years because of the melting ice, which is proof that global warming is really happening. Also, carbon dioxide is at an unprecedented level not seen for at least the last 800,000 years. It is released through natural processes but also through human activities such as deforestation, land use changes, and burning fossil fuels. Humans have increased atmospheric CO2 concentration by a third since the Industrial Revolution began. The carbon dioxide levels are directly related to the population of the world.…

Climate is the typical weather conditions in a particular area and it is different for different seasons. Climate is different from the weather. The weather is the temperature and other conditions such as sun, rain, and wind. The weather is a mixture of events that occur every day in our atmosphere and the weather will change everyday or just a few hours. The weather is different all over the world. It may be hot and sunny somewhere in the world, but it is cold and snowy in another place. Although the weather will change in a few hours, the climate will take a long period of time to change. What is climate change? Climate change refers to the statistically significant change in the average state of the climate over time. The greater the dispersion,…

Climate change is a change in global or regional climate patterns, and has attributed greatly to the increased levels of carbon dioxide within the earth’s atmosphere, which is said to be produced by the use of fossil fuels. For many years scientists have been predicting that that the results of climate change would include loss of sea ice, accelerated sea level rise and more intense heat waves of a longer length. Scientists also have high confidence that global temperatures will continue to rise for decades to come, and this being largely due to the greenhouse gases produced by human activity.…

Climate change means any significant, long-term change in the expected patterns of average weather of a specific region, or even the whole world over a significant period of time. It describes changes in the state of the atmosphere over time, scales ranging from decades to millions of years. Data shows that earth’s average air temperature has changed by about 1.4 degrees fahrenheit (Citation). Climate change is about abnormal variations into the climate, and the effects of these variations on other parts of the Earth. One example is the melting of the ice caps at the South Pole and North Pole. These changes may take tens, hundreds or perhaps millions of years.…
