We Will Be Alright Research Paper
“We Will Be Alright,” a heartfelt, inspiring song of making it through the trials and tribulations in our lives, is performed by multi-talented, International contest winner Ray Keyz, a Singer-Songwriter from Nairobi, Kenya, and co-written by the talented Shirley Goines, a current Houston resident formerly of New York with Global Harmony Records. Ray Keyz and Shirley started collaborating years back, and continue to collaborate on amazing works despite obstacles outside of their control. One such major setback, which is currently still going on, is the volatile uprising in Ray Keyz’s native country of Kenya. When hurricane Harvey flooded and devastated the city of Houston Texas and surrounding areas, despite his own adversity, Ray Keyz was moved by what the city was going through, and inspired by our resiliency to overcome; this is when “We Will Be Alright” was born. …show more content…
Keyz and Shirley thoughtfully penned the song together to inspire hopefulness to everyone around the world letting those going through their own tragedies, setbacks, and hard circumstances know that no matter what, “We Will Be

It does not have a narrative or a straight forward statement. It is an expression of a feeling of ennui and company that helps to mitigate it, even if not with the ideal methods. This, and the other songs on the E.P. were all written while my girlfriend was undergoing intense chemotherapy. This was dark time and methods were bound to be less than ideal. We coped. We survived.…

When we are going through hardships in life, we feel like we are in a small wreck boat fighting the currents of a nasty sea storm. We start noticing we are miles and miles away from help; we realize we are alone. We cannot see beyond the situation we are currently experiencing. We are blind by the sea storm and it seems like there is no sign of hope anywhere. But just as we fall into despair, a luminous light squeezes from the dark grayish clouds. And even though we almost had let go of the only precious thing that gave us strength, this light is giving us an opportunity to preserve hope once more. In Lisel Mueller’s poem “Hope”, Mueller claims hope is difficult to see and maintain, but it lives everywhere even in herself.…

This song can relate to Truman and the Truman show. I know this because many people from the outside world hope that Truman will try his best to escape the dome and find his way to the real world. Those who want him to escape feel like Christof is being unfair to Truman, so they attempt to stop him, but unfortunately they learn that only Truman can save himself. Hope is what inspires Truman to continue on through his journey.…

For my song I picked Garth Brooks “The River.” I consider this song to be very meaningful. This song is about chasing your dreams and never giving up on what you believe in, reminding us that life is shorter than we think and if we just stand on the shore watching the river go by, then life will be gone before we know it. Garth Brooks uses a lot of psychological concepts in this song, such as, Attitude, Affect, Motivation, Optimism, and Behavior. Garth Brooks says, “A dream is like a river.” A dream changes, just like a river changes. As life changes, the river can be calm then strong then calm again, so our path in life change. Garth Brooks says that “He will sail his vessel until the river runs dry.” To me this mean no matter what life throws…

Turns out it was just the message people needed. “The reactions were honest, and intense. People have been sending me the most beautiful stories of how they refuse to give up,” she recalls. One such story included an incredible woman named Christine, who adopted “Fight Song” as her battle cry against a cancer. After hearing how much “Fight Song” had inspired Christine, Rachel taught 150 of Christine’s friends and family the song for an emotional surprise performance. Sadly, Christine would later succumb but her legacy of love, hope and courage stays with Rachel…

This song had a deep impact on me over the spring break of 2016 when I had to face something few should ever have to go through. Over that week I decided to be the caretaker for my nonagenarian grandmother, in order to let my parents go on a well-deserved vacation. Little did I know this week would become one of the most challenging weeks of my life. When I was taking care of her she had a serious fall and broke her hip in two places. While we were in the hospital for surgery she began to have violent hallucinations due to the pain medication she was on, resulting in a delay on the surgery. In the midst of all this chaos I had “Victorious in Love” playing on repeat. The song goes on to say, “This Mountain seems so high God… And in my weakness be made strong”. This resonated with me because I was able use those lyrics to muster up the strength I needed to face the dozens of unexpected obstacles that came my way. Without this song I would not have had the courage to overcome this trying…

I didn't know anything about the song until the video came out and it started to play on the radios. I first listened to it when I was in my car driving home from work. At first I didn't think it was that good but when I saw the music video then I realized what the significance and the importance of the song. I decided to write about this song because once I understood about what the song means and about what motivated the author to write this song, it took me back to my high school days and I could remember those memories like they happened yesterday.…

This song is part of my life soundtrack because it reminds me of my great grandma. My great grandma passed away when I was in 5th grade and this song has always reminded me of her. We were extremely close, she was my best friend, and whenever I hear this song it brings back memories of when I was at her house or just spending time with her. My favorite part of this song is the chorus. When I was younger I used to listen to this song after she passed away because it reminded me that I would see her again someday.…

It describes my exact feelings towards graduation talking about how “our future is in our hands and how we “have so many dreams and so many plans.” While listening to this song, I think back on all the memories I have made at Madera High, and all the people who have touched my life. I am appreciative of the small town I come from, and the opportunities Madera High has blessed me with. I will always remember these last 4 years and all the people that shaped me into the person I have become today. This song causes me to look back on high school and just smile as it's now coming to an end. “For [me] the world just opens up, as I close this chapter and begin a new story at Cal Poly this fall. I'll always remember my roots and Madera High School. #BleedBlue…

Milan Kundera once said “ Anyone whose goal is ‘something higher’ must expect someday to suffer vertigo. What is vertigo? Fear of falling? No, vertigo is something other than fear of falling. It is the voice of the emptiness below us which tempts and lures us, it is the desire to fall, against which, terrified, we defend ourselves.” This song reminds me to always pick yourself up again after you fall. Why do we fall? So we can pick ourselves up again. If you make yourself more than just a man, if you devote yourself to an ideal, you become something else entirely. When I would listen to the song, it would always remind me that there’s more to shoot for than just success. It reminds me that the difference between the impossible and the possible lies in a person’s motivation. For an example, I think about goals and life as a bow and arrow. An arrow can only be shot by pulling the bow backwards. When life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means it’s going to launch you into something great. “To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift.”…

This song sheds light on the ways in which a parent truly loves their child. Not only do we want to teach our children the correct way to live but we also need to show them by ‘practicing what we preach’. In the first and second lines of the song, we are introduced to the supernatural and all powerful protection that a parent wants for their child. He says “May the good Lord be with you, down every road that you roam”, I feel that by including a religious stand in the lyrics that the writer is giving all his faith and hope to a higher power in order to protect his child through all paths in life. As parents we are not always able to be there for our children and by giving power over to a higher being, I feel that we are given a sense of security and comfort. Knowing that someone or something is always watching over and standing beside our child is an added protection in addition to our parental protection. This is not the only religious reference included in the lyrics. In the third stanza, second to last line, Rod says…

Rather than focus on the gloomy and lonely lives people live, they focus on how people can grow and come together in times like this. The artists also inspire intense emotions through their music. Emotions create effective works of art. This musical has a beautiful message that everyone needs to hear and has touched me this year as I have faced the same feelings as Evan and many other high school students who feel as though they are “on the outside always looking in” (Waving Through a…

Although this song is distorted because of the use of figurative language called metaphor, there is no doubt that “Danny’s Song” by Kenny Loggins tells of the promises that parents are making to their son (topic sentence). Loggins shows the amount and fluidity of love that the parents will pour over this child by using metaphor, which is simply an image used to convey another idea (assertion). Loggins displays in a comforting style the affection that the parents want to provide for their child when they say, “…And everything will bring a chain of love...” (Loggins) {support}. This single line exhibits s a lifetime of promised to this child, or to anyone to whom it is addressed because it bares the essence of knowing that…
