I believe that I should be selected to experience the Voyage of Discovery 2016 because it will allow me to follow my ultimate dream of being assimilated into the one of a kind Italian culture that my ancestors have known for generations. Being able to see Italy is a goal of mine that is strongly driven by my passion to learn about the culture and language of my family's home country. The Voyage of Discovery 2016 explains my motives in its title–– I want to discover the country that holds both my family pastime and my current unbreakable passions. In my career, I plan to work with US/Italy relations revolving around business and teaching. The Voyage of Discovery 2016 will allow me to become exposed to the country that I wish to constantly work with in my future, and it will provide me with knowledge and understanding of cultural differences. Learning of cultural differences is something I believe is very important for Italian Americans to understand, which is why this would be a great part to take away from the Voyage of Discovery 2016 program.
