Vodafone is the largest telecommunication company in Europe and the second largest after China Mobile in the world. The company did the first mobile call at UK at the beginning of 1985. Since that time, company user base grown to 453 million subscribers as of June 2013. “Vodafone owns and operates networks in 21 countries and has partner networks in over 40 additional countries. Its Vodafone Global Enterprise division provides telecommunications and IT services to corporate clients in over 65 countries.” The company employs more than 90 thousand people as of 2013. Vodafone is the third-largest company listed on the London Stock Exchange. “It had a market capitalisation of approximately £89.1 billion as of 6 July 2012.” Its net income was £429 million in 2013.
The Vodafone business model is driven by morals. The corporate passions are their customers, their people, the results and the world around them. To make certain CSR remains a top priority for the business, they have developed strong CSR management structures and systems. Social, environmental and ethical issues are also incorporated into the Vodafone risk management processes. CSR-related policies were agreed to at the UK Policy Committee, chaired by the CEO.
