Verna's Lesson: Dual Citizenship
This week the lesson stated with a discussion about dual citizenship.
The first week of November of this year gave Verna and me a better understanding of dual citizenship.
Our new grandson, Matthew has dual citizenship.
Matthew’s birth location was in England; so by birth, he is a citizen of Great Brittan; but since both of his parents are citizens of the United States he is also holding citizenship in America.
Matthew is eligible for an additional citizenship that hopefully everyone in this room has applied for and received.
By Birth everyone in this room has earthly citizenship.
Matthew’s future citizenship was established two thousand years ago in a small livestock shed behind an inn that was located in the insignificant village of Bethlehem

By faith’s power, Matthew will receive all of the blessings and benefits of being a citizen of heaven.
Citizenship into heaven is not free a huge price was paid for that future citizenship that is available to baby Matthew.
That same tremendous cost was paid in pain and suffering for our heavenly citizenship also.

Galatians 1:4 4 who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father.
Is it possible as the lesson states that at this very present moment we are living lives simultaneously in this physical world and also in the spiritual world.
Has the spiritual world already arrived in the hearts of believers; our lesson tells us we don’t have to wait for the end of the world to experience heavenly things.
Hebrews 6:5 5 who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age
Scripture tells us that as we live our lives in this physical world the power of the spiritual world is also available to us.

How could it possibly be that we are experiencing heavenly things, presently on this evil

Have we received every spiritual blessing available to us as stated in Ephesians 1:3?
2 Peter 1:3 tells us by divine power we have been granted everything required of life and godliness; if you have everything required in this life shouldn’t we be living like a king?
Romans 5:17 17 For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!

It seems that we have been given the necessary spiritual tools to live abundantly but our failure to accept totally what has been offered causes us to live this life as a spiritual pauper.
Can you explain why everyone isn’t a spiritual giant?
