CACHE Level 2 Certificate Introducing Caring for Children and Young People Activity Planner Identification, age(s) and gender of children taking part in the activity. | Activity: hand painting | Curriculum Area:creative play | Aim of activity:To understand each Childs creativity individually | Rationale:To understand the creativity of the children. | Planning, preparation and resources:To prepare this I firstly need the equipment in order to do it. Therefore I had to purchase sturdy paper, fabric paint (as it is suitable for the age-non-toxic), tray with smooth water resistance surface, stiff brush. Once the basics are purchased health and safety equipment was and should be in the setting. So aprons for protective measures, a buck of water and rag for cleaning up and a newspaper to dry the paintings were already present. | Detailed account of activity.First of all the tray had to be filled with fabric paint, as it is non-toxic as well as been suitable to the age group. Each tray contains a different colour for each child to use. Once the trays were filled and ready, I then placed sheets of a-4 paper for each child. I then demonstrated the children in what the activity was about. I would then help them put on their aprons in order to protect their clothing. Each child would then choose which colour of paint they like. They would then put their finger or hand into the paint and place it onto the sheet of paper, creating hand or finger prince. Once they were finished, they would then clean the wet paint with newspapers and wash their hands until they are clean. I would then place all the pictures on a rack, for them to dry.

    Creativity and creative learning are highlighted by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework as being a significant aspect in the holistic development of young children.
