Using Wind Power in Saudi Arabia with the Steam Power Plants

Prince Mohammed Bin Fahd University

COMM 1312, Section 102

The Abstract

This project will handle issues of using renewable sources of energy, such as wind power, to generate electricity side by side to the old school generator that runs on oil. The goal of this paper is to determine if this project would save money for the company in Saudi Arabia. If the project proves to be successful, Saudi Electric Company will implement the solution. Through this research, surveys and interviews are going to be personally conducted with people who are in charge. Online sources such as, ebrary will be used during this research to establish facts.
Introduction
Who does not use electricity these days? Do we know that we can produce electricity through wind power? Wind power is similar to any other power resources that we see and feel in our daily lives. For instance, wave power, which is a very similar to wind power. It requires the generator to stand and hold on in extreme weather conditions without being damaged (Boyle, 2007). Wind power is a renewable energy source. That is due the buoyancy force, which is an upward acting force, caused by fluid pressure that opposes an object’s weight (Peng, 2007).
In 1105 A.D., the first wind power device was for grain grinding. These devices were controlled manually and oriented by adjusting the tail (Mathew, 2006). The first attempts to generate electricity from wind power were in America. It was a do-it-yourself device that combined wind turbines, which were actually designed for pumping water (Hau, 2005).
Since air is a renewable source, we can produce electricity by converting wind into electric power using mechanical energy fundamentals (Sorensen, 1976). Thus, cost is the base barrier to the widespread adoption of renewable energies, such as wind power. Generating electricity using wind power is more costly than generating

The journey to find an alternate source of energy that is in accordance with past events and current trends in technology has introduced new methods for human beings to care for the environment and to protect earth’s natural resources. An alternate source of energy that this paper will be covering is wind power. This is not a new discovery but overtime it took a fresh and better tactic. History will reveal that hundreds of years ago, windmills were already use in Europe in wind farms with wind turbines in order to gain as much as wind energy as possible. This is an effective method in producing the maximum wind energy; however, there are pros and cons that one has to be aware with in this kind of alternative source of energy.…

Wind being used as a source of energy isn't new as it has been used ever since the invention of windmills and boats. Due to the fact that fossil fuels are the primary source of energy in the United States (along with other countries), people have begun to look for other ways to get our energy. Though this topic relating to the energy issues always bring up controversy, in this essay I will tell you the two opposing views on wind farms and then tell you which viewpoint I agree with and why. Then, you will be able to form your own opinion on this issue.…

The use of renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, biomass, geothermal and hydropower are growing rapidly not only because of being environment friendly but also because their cost is continuously decreasing. The graph below shows the cost comparison of some renewable energy resources with the conventional resources. As it can be seen on the chart, the price of electricity from wind, solar are greater than that from natural gas or coal but it is expected to decrease.…
