Doctor- the doctor is a person who you see when you are unwell; they are responsible for telling you what is wrong or what your problem may be. He/she is also responsible for choosing the right medication for you and giving you your prescription.

Pharmacy- the pharmacist is responsible for dispensing the correct medication and correct dosage to you.

Social Care Worker (meds trained) – The medication trained member of staff is responsible for the service user or users who take medication, and that their medication is taken on time and it is the correct dosage and amount. There also responsible for keeping the medication administration charts (mar charts) safe from other service users by locking them away. This is called confidentiality and the Date Protection Act.

2. Most care companies would allow over the counter medication also known as homely remedies. An example of some of the remedies are: Lemsips, daily vitamins, and vapour rub. Medication trained staff would ensure that the over counter remedies has a recording system within the mar chats, they would also talk to the GP of the individual to ensure that the homely remedies are safe for them to use and would not affect any regular medication that they are on, staff members would also record the conversation between themselves and the doctor.
