There are many benefits on why school should add school uniforms. Researchers have observed that uniforms set a professional tone and helps students’ self-esteem. Since people get picked on because of what they wear, schools should add uniforms.
Supporters of uniforms believe that uniforms help schools set a professional tone. Uniforms bring order and better behavior in the classroom, which helps the student and teacher do their job better. Also, uniforms keep students from becoming distracted and help them focused throughout the school day. Surveys from teachers from different schools, states that uniforms help the class run more smoothly. Additionally, students have a better feel for their self-esteem. It makes students feel that they are in the group with everyone else. Uniforms make getting dressed easier for parents and students in the morning. Research show that self-esteem was raised 23% at a private school that wears uniforms. Better self-esteem means better chance of getting better grades throughout your classes which will help you get into a good college9. More self-esteem means that students will have greater confidence in their school work. It helps students be more affable to others because everyone is wearing the same thing to school.
People that do not agree with this topic would say that you cannot express yourself. You do not have to express yourself in school. Private school kids change after they get home because they have uniforms. In school, it helps them keep focused on school work and not on clothe and how they look. In fact, it helps teachers because they do not have to deal with the dress code being broken. In fact private schools have higher GPA’s than students in public schools. Schools should enforce a rule for uniforms which would help students a lot. It gives a good professional tone and gives the school better school spirit. This issue is important because people are not going to school to learn and instead they just try to look good in front of people. Schools just need to add uniforms and it will solve all these problems.
